Sickness got our house BAD this past month. Kenny was the first to get it and coughed for three weeks. He’s been to quick care and on breathing treatments and prescriptions. Trey also caught it really bad and was pretty miserable for awhile. The rest of us also got it but luckily I was only miserable for about 2 days.
Both of our moms had birthdays this past month. We are sure grateful for them!
We took Grandma to the park for her birthday.
Valentine’s Day was really fun this year. The kids had fun making Valentines (especially Kayli) and mailing them to family living far away. Kayli also had a fun preschool party. We had a fun breakfast that morning and the boys gave me and Kayli flowers and chocolates. Kayli also got a Mulan doll and Beau got some more monster trucks.
Kenny has been on the news once a month as the News 3 tech expert. He was also on a Downtown Las Vegas podcast show. They’re always making music videos where Kenny is usually doing something embarrassing. He thinks it’s great though! His business delivered 200 roses to people on Fremont Street for Valentine’s Day and they made a cool video to show it all.
We went to the Discovery Museum with cousins. The kids had a blast. Kayli’s favorite part was the town and Beau loved the water part.
Trey is just about 8 months now. He has 2 teeth and he’s acting like he’s got more coming in. He loves baths, playing with Kayli and Beau, chewing on everything, and mommy. He is starting to eat little foods and can pick them up and get them to his mouth. He gets up on all fours and can scoot around the room but hasn’t crawled yet. He’s a pretty happy little guy. He likes to swing at the park. He can sign “more”.
Beau is still a funny little guy and really sweet. He had a hard time going to primary for a few weeks but last week he finally went and loved it. He still gives the best prayers and is so thoughtful about everything he says. We can’t help but smile and giggle thru every prayer he gives. The other day he randomly said to grandma, “grandma, I hope you don’t get squished by a car”. I was asking him the other day why he thought Heavenly Father let me be his mommy and that I was so lucky. He said, “yeah it’s because Heavenly Father is so nice, and you are so nice too-except at bedtime. At bedtime you are mean-you make us go to bed.” Haha, unfortunately I don’t know how to be nice about bedtime! He can count backwards from 10. He can sing his Spanish ABCs. He writes his name and it’s pretty creative and interesting but at least he’s finally into writing. And I love the way he writes it. Last Saturday he learned how to ride his pedal bike with no training wheels. He had been awesome on his Strider bike for a long time and transitioning to the pedal bike was pretty easy for him. He’s fearless! He loves playing with his friends and his cousins.
Kayli has done a lot this past month to really be brave and she seems to be not as shy lately. I caught her being loud and outgoing with her preschool friends before school the other day and even had to call her over and tell her to tone it down a bit! We also had the missionaries over and she was on one-not shy a bit and totally doing everything possible for their attention. She went to Madi’s birthday at FLPnOUT Extreme and has been to friends’ houses all by herself. She’s had friends over here and she keeps busy throughout the week with fun things to do! She’s been dressing like Aunt Kaci when she works at FLPnOUT. T-shirt, rolled up skinny jeans, a hat on backwards, converse, and a lanyard-and wants her jeans washed every day so she can dress the same every day! She likes to play Hangman, design things, create things out of paper, play games, play house, she’s interested in learning the piano, and she amazes us every day with the things she creates, comes up with, and learns. She is very in to writing and is always spelling new words she figures out. We get notes pretty regularly from her. She loves the new primary song “If I Listen With My Heart” and she sings it so beautifully. She also learned how to ride a bike with no training wheels! She did so awesome learning at the park with dad and she really just took off. It was February 27th for both her and Beau! I hope I always remember the sweet sound of her singing it. She also lost her first tooth on Jan, 29th! She was home with a babysitter when it fell out but she was so brave and didn’t even freak out. She had to make a race car for preschool she had a blast working on it with dad. It was her first of many school projects!
Our family has loved bike rides lately. The weather has been great and we got a seat for Trey for Christmas so he loves riding along too!
We also love our park days because the weather has been awesome here in Vegas.
Kenny and I ran the Aloha 5K with friends. Kenny had been so sick leading up to the race and he coughed running it too. I had tried to exercise lots before it but it’s just not happening as much as I would like. I didn’t get my best time ever but I did better than I thought I would too. It was fun and I’m excited to get back in the groove of running again, hopefully.
I have been playing lots of volleyball. Kenny is anxious to start running. We love hanging out with friends and both of us are busy with callings. We are also starting to design our backyard and get that all finished so we can enjoy the crazy nice weather before it gets too hot! Kenny loves helping the kids ride bikes and even has them going off jumps.
We sure love these kids of ours!
