Back in September I got to take a girls’ trip to St. George to see The Little Mermaid at Tuacahn. It was a blast. We spent all day in St. George and most of the things we wanted to do involved eating. We stopped at Swig first then ate lunch at Kneaders. That was only the second time I have eaten there and I’m obsessed! Then we went to Tai Pan and did some other shopping and then got pedicures. That night we went to Pizza Factory and then to the show which was awesome! After the show we stopped at Iceberg to get shakes and fries that are delicious with their fry sauce and we drove home. It was such an enjoyable day. Back at home all the husbands took the kids to FLIPnOUT. We were cracking up at all the pictures they were sending us…kids in totally mismatched clothes and kids in the background that we weren’t sure were totally being watched over but I guess they were! Everyone survived.
October was great and we were able to do lots of fun fall/Halloween things. Conference weekend was great because Josh and Mandy came to visit. The boys wanted to work on Friday so Mandy and I took the kids down to the Shark Reef. Then we went down to the Linq since we had never been there. Mandy introduced us to Sprinkles in San Diego so it seemed fitting that we check out the new Sprinkles down there with her!
During the Priesthood session of conference Kayli had I had a girls’ night with Lindsay while the boys watched the session then went to eat.
We went to Gilcrease Orchard with friends which is always fun. The kids loved the hay ride, picking pumpkins, and of course the apple cider donuts. We even got to see cousin Kate there.
We also went out to the Logandale corn maze with my mom and dad. We met Alise and Timmy out there too since their family was running the whole thing. The corn maze was awesome and picking pumpkins in a real pumpkin patch was so fun too.
And more fun fall festivities…
All of us grown-ups went to a haunted house and it was actually really fun! We were definitely the oldest people there!
Kenny carved a pumpkin and the rest of us just painted them. Kayli was not about to touch the pumpkin guts and she actually loved painting her pumpkin.
We went trick-or-treating three times. We looked through Grandma Eliason’s costume box and right away Kayli wanted to be Elliot from Pete’s Dragon. She had recently watched the movie and Kenny was so excited because it had been his costume when he was little. So she was Pete’s Dragon even though most kids have no idea who he is! Beau was a muscle man also from Grandma’s collection. Easy and free. The first time was at the promenade in our community where local businesses pass out candy. Kenny had a booth out there this year so we got to help him pass out candy and trick-or-treat.
An hour before our ward trunk-or-treat, Kayli decided she wanted to be a princess instead of a dragon so we spent that hour combing out her Tangled wig and she went as Rapunzel. Here’s my only picture from the night…
Halloween is my dad’s birthday so we usually go to dinner with him, then go trick-or-treating with my family, and then come back for pie-my dad’s favorite! It’s fun trick-or-treating with the cousins!
Kayli and I went to a baby shower with the girls in Kenny’s family so the boys went with their friends to the Nellis Air Show-except it ended up being such a nightmare to get to that they ended up going to see a movie. Beau thought it was pretty cool riding in the car with his friends.
Kim is getting married in January and so we’ve been busy busy getting ready! It’s been fun though because I’ve seen my family and Emily more than usual. We’ve had weekly craft nights and although it’s busy-it’s fun! Kayli always wants in on the action and finally I had something for her to paint. She did the gold K&A which I know Kim will always cherish!
I always want to go to Disneyland but I’ve especially wanted to lately since Beau is obsessed with Cars. I knew he’d freak out when he saw Radiator Springs. I figured the end of the year was too crazy and that it wasn’t going to happen for awhile. Last week though, Kenny surprised me with an anniversary present and Kayli with a birthday present-tickets to Disneyland! And he said that Josh and Many would be meeting us there! We were pretty excited. I convinced him that one day wasn’t enough to do both parks and he let us stay another day. Good thing because Beau did love Cars Land and we spent most of the day there. It really is so magical to see the kids so in awe and so excited to meet their favorite characters and go on fun little rides. Kayli was tall enough this time to ride some bigger rides. Kenny took her on Thunder Mountain and I knew she’d hate it but he didn’t really warn her about what it was. She isn’t much of a daredevil and she did hate it and said she is never going on it again. Both parks were decorated for Christmas and it beautiful! It was also a great time to visit. The lines weren’t bad at all!
Yesterday 11-22 was our 6th anniversary!
A little about Beau…he is so sweet. He is always so grateful for everything and is always signing thank-you or cheering, “yaaaaaayyyy!” if I say something exciting. He loves to give hugs and kisses and is very cuddly. He loves his friends and gets so excited and rowdy whenever he sees them. He is going to gymnastics again with all of his friends. He loves nursery and loves his teachers. He gets so excited to see all of them. He loves to play with cars. Give him a car or two and he’s content. I took him with me to get an oil change and he was loving watching the cars get lifted and lowered. He would freak out every time. The workers loved him. He loves to play with Kayli and has to do whatever she does. He loves to take pictures and then wants to “see” the picture every time. He loves to sweep and help with laundry. He loves to sneak treats and hide. He loves the color blue.
Kayli…She likes to do anything crafty but lately she’s into making jewelry, dot-to-dots, color by numbers, and drawing pictures. She amazes me every day with how she improves her drawings. She likes to play pretend anything-house, school, church, library, and barbies. She likes to pretend that she’s the princesses at Disneyland meeting the kids that come (that’s below where she’s in her Anna dress). She makes up songs that are totally good. She can sing the song Popular from Wicked and Shake It Off from Taylor Swift but she knows that we have to mute the speaking part and she always reminds me to. She’s obsessed with cleaning, organizing, rearranging and sending things to DI. It’s great except she’s always rearranging my bathrooms, her drawers, her toys, etc. and sometimes I can’t find where things got placed. She loves to dust, vacuum, sweep, clean toilets-you name it! She’s available for hire! She loves preschool and is learning so much. She did awesome in her Primary Program and said her part-which is huge for her-and sang all the songs. She loves to play games. She loves her sunbeam teachers. Tomorrow she turns 4!
Some pictures of the two of them…
Fun with cousins…
