Beau went to Centennial’s volleyball camp with friends. Those boys were quite the comedic relief there but they also had a blast and did good.
For Haley’s birthday we got permits to hike the Subway in Zion. I was excited to explore Zion but we knew it wouldn’t be an easy hike. We stayed at the cutest place in a cute little Bungalow. The hike was incredible, beatiful, adventurous, and hard. We hiked for 11 hours and had to swim at some parts. We had to jump into water, use a rope and repel at some parts but it ended up being so cool. By the end we were so tired and ready to be done. My legs were so sore for the next 5 days but I am so glad we did this hike!
Crystal Palace…
We loved watching the Olympics, swimming, and playing with friends the last few weeks of summer…
Beau’s 12th birthday was the Saturday before school started. He planned the whole day all revolving around hockey, of course. Him and Bennett did a Stick and Puck class at CNA, then we ate at the restaurant there, and we went shopping at the gear store there with his gift card. Him and Bennett came home to play knee hockey, NHL 23, and balloon volleyball and then we had 14 boys come out to play street hockey which was so much fun! We ended up doing it at the church parking lot which ended up being perfect and shady. We also ended the night with a volleyball game inside. I think he had a blast all day!
This year all 4 kids are at Somerset. We are pretty excited about it. Kayli is the oldest and her and Beau are old pros when it comes to middle school now. We actually know a ton of people at this school and I didn’t even feel new when we went to the open house. Sami has the cutest teacher ever and she met lots of girls in her class before school started since I knew their moms. She also has friends from church she finds at recess so she has enjoyed being at the school and has made friends quickly. Trey ended up only knowing one person in his class, although he does know other kids in his grade, and the transition has been the hardest on him. He has never in his life felt this uncomfortable feeling of being the new kid and sometimes feeling alone. At his old school, everyone knew him from the day he started Kindergarten and he has done every team with coaches and friends he knows and we’ve never moved so he only knows this ward, street, neighborhood and his best friends he’s known since birth! He is being so brave and he’s meeting people, it’s just been an adjustment. I know he will love it soon, and he is working so hard and sticking with it, but it’s been uncomfortable and he’s gone with tears in his eyes which has been so hard. His teacher and the principal were so sweet today so I know he is in good hands and the one kid he knows was very sweet today too and his teacher said she is going to put their desks by each other which Trey seemed happy about. And I know soon enough, the whole school will now him and love him!
First day pics…
Walking with friends on the first day…
Walking to and from school, although very hot right now, has been so fun! It’s an easier and closer walk than Bozarth was we never walked to Bozarth. And I think the little kids are so cute in their uniforms!
