Lately we’ve kept busy but not too busy. It’s a good busy. Last time I wrote we had had a few snow days but nothing like the snow we got on February 20-21. It snowed late Wednesday night and of course we were all out playing in it. We woke up Thursday to a winter wonderland! School wasn’t cancelled so the kids went off to school in the snow! The district did cancel school the next day, however, when it was sunny and beautiful and the snow had all melted away…
Dinner with some of the fam for mom’s b-day…
Kayli wanted to make sugar cookies for St. Patrick’s Day and she did most of the work! We tried to catch a leprechaun but we didn’t…
Kenny turned 36! They surprised him at work with a giant cake they all popped out of and then him and I went to dinner that night. We planned a big off-roading date night for that weekend to celebrate with friends but Kenny ended up with strep throat and we had to cancel!
Had to go to Springs Preserve with McCormicks when the Safari/jeep exhibit was there…
Kenny’s birthday present every year is tickets to Monster Jam. This year Trey got to go along with so many friends and family. The boys love it and it’s a night they look forward to all year long! Kayli always looks forward to the girls’ night too. This year we met up with the girls in my family for shopping and dinner. After that we met up with Erin and Haley and got ice-cream. It’s a fun night for everyone!
The Jackson’s came to town for their Spring Break so we got to go meet up with them at the Marriott where they were staying and go swimming! So fun to see them and catch up!
Beau finished his basketball season. He sure learned a lot and loves to play. The minute he comes home from school he is outside shooting hoops.
We had family pictures taken with my side of the family out at the dry lake beds so afterwards we stopped at Seven Magic Mountains. It was so windy though!
The kids got to go see the horses at Kari and Tracy’s neighbor’s house and Trey was in heaven of course!
Kayli and Beau started football and it’s the cutest thing. They are on different teams. They are both playing with a bunch of friends. Kayli and Milani are the only girls on the team and Kayli is playing against some 12 year-old boys! She has gone out and played hard though! Beau loves playing center and wide receiver and Bennett loves playing quarterback and finding Beau. They love to practice football and even get to help at the big kids’ practices. They are loving it. Beau’s team is fun to watch too. They are young and have never played but they sure are a fast, fun team to watch!
Josh and Mandy came down for a weekend and we had the best time of course. We met them at FLIPnOUT and then we got to have a date night where we went to Pancho’s for dinner and then off-roading. Saturday we had an early football game, then Holli’s wedding, then went to Raising Cane’s and Fox Hill Park, then back to another football game and then back to Holli’s reception. It was a busy weekend but we fit it all in and had a blast. Taylor was in town for the wedding so Mandy took Eliason pictures. While we were out at Calico Basin taking pictures the kids were loving building these rock towers. Especially Sami! It’s always a good time when Taylor comes to town and we love having Josh and Mandy and their girls here too!
Pictures from Holli’s wedding… such a fun time!
We went to the BMX Bike Track. Our friends rented the whole thing out and we all split the cost to make it a super cheap, fun night with hot dogs and races. The kids love it! They all leave with scrapes and bruises but it’s a blast for them all. Even Sami rode her Strider bike! Beau is so fast out there and Kayli strolled around on her beach cruiser. Haha.
We went to Bozarth Skate Night because Kayli would not miss it for anything! Beau was probably the fastest kid out there but we had to leave before the races. They have a blast and thought it was so cool that the principal said that they were so fast!
Trey is still doing Sports Class (some days I’m not sure why we keep signing up because he can be so naughty!) with his buddies. He loves when it’s Sports Class day or Playgroup Day. This last time the Monday class filled up before we signed up so we switched to Thursdays. They were probably so relived when our boys didn’t show up on Monday but then they showed up Thursday…and were the only two kids in the class! The coaches could have had the morning off! Haha. They really are so patient with the kids though even when they do all kinds of crazy stuff!
We just had our 5th Amazing Race with friends and OUR TEAM WON! It’s one of the best nights of the year for us and even though Jen started this tradition and has moved away, we have kept it alive! Mike planned this one and so we got Erin on our team along with Cami and Kory. It was so much fun and we ended up at Karaoke which was a blast! We’ve passed around two gnomes since we’ve started and when you win you sign your name and the year. It’s a fun tradition (and so much work for the person who plans it-Kenny volunteered for next time!)
We mostly stayed home for Spring Break and played outside lots but we did go to St. George on Thursday. It was Chase’s birthday and he wanted to check out the bike track in St. George so we all headed up there to make a fun day out of it. The bike track was awesome! Beau and Kenny loved it. Then we went to Judd’s Candy Store, the Children’s Museum, and the Rec Center pool. We were only at the pool for about 30 minutes when it shut down because of poop in the pool so that was a bummer! Luckily, Kayli and Beau went right on the water slide and did that over and over again before it closed. I was proud of them for being so brave! Kayli wouldn’t have done it a few months ago. She said she got nervous so she asked the girl in front of her if she’d ever been on it and if it was scary. The girl told her you go fast but that it’s a lot of fun so that calmed Kayli’s nerves. I was surprised she asked the girl but I’m proud of her for doing it! We had a great day and can’t wait for another chance to get up there!
We had a great Easter! We got together with the Eliason side on Saturday. The kids decorated eggs and had an egg hunt where the Easter Bunny showed up! And Kenny was pretty excited that he won the adult egg-decorating contest! On Easter we had our traditional egg hunt at the grass with friends and spent the night with my family. The kids did an egg hunt and I realized that with three different egg hunts I only took pictures of Sami every time! I couldn’t help it! She was too cute and by time we found eggs at Grandma England’s house she had figured out that the eggs had candy inside. She’d find one egg, sit down and open it, eat the candy, then get up and go find another one, sit down and eat the candy. She loved doing bubbles with Kelli and Ryder. She also figured out that daddy was in the bunny costume. She was terrified but she kept telling everyone “daddy” and pointing at the bunny like she was convincing herself that the scary bunny was ok because daddy was in it!
Kayli was tested for GATE and she made it! She’s pretty excited. Her teacher, Mrs. Mazur, is about to have a baby and will be on maternity leave after Spring Break and won’t be back the rest of the year. Kayli is not excited. She has loved her teacher and Mrs. Mazur has loved Kayli. She gave her lots of stuff to come home and play school with and would even sneak stuff into Kayli’s backpack so she was surprised when she came home. We will miss her and I’m really hopeful that Kayli will go to school ok every morning! She looks forward to Activity Days and has loved everything they do! Her primary teacher always tells me how grateful she is for Kayli- that she’s so good and answers questions and is so awesome to have in there. When we do Come Follow Me stuff at home I’m not always sure if these kids are learning or listening at all and it’s such a fight most of the time- but apparently they are and even though they are much better for their teachers than they are for us, I’m glad they are apparently paying attention at home.
Beau loves all the sports and loves practicing them all. He is covered in scrapes, bruises, dirt, and sweat at the end of every day. He loves to watch the Golden Knights play-especially now that the playoffs are happening. He would do anything to go to a game! The minute he comes home from school he goes out back to shoot hoops.
Trey likes to sing a lot lately and he belts out songs and doesn’t care where we are when he does that. His favorites right now are “The Royal Doulton Music Hall” from the new Mary Poppins, “A Whole New World” and “Hallelujah”. He gave the prayer in primary for the first time this past Sunday and wasn’t nervous at all!
Sami is so much fun and such a little handful at the same time. I try not to take her to the store with me anymore because she just screams to get out of the cart and then climbs out of the cart. She is always on the counter and will move chairs around to get up to where she wants. She likes to get into everything and is always covering herself in markers and pens that get left out by the older kids. At the same time, she’s so happy, friendly and getting so big! She says a lot now! She also sings lots of songs now. She sings “Happy Birthday” but she sings “Happy to you Grandpa”. Always Grandpa. She sings parts of “Baby Shark”, “Let it Go”, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” and “Hallelujah”. She tries to get Alexa to play songs. Pretty funny. We’re constantly laughing at the things she’s picked up on. She keeps right up with the older kids. She loves to be on the trampoline or out riding bikes with them. She loves her little friends and even the big kids and calls them all by name now.

I’ve been loving playing soccer. We get better every season and our finally in the championship game tonight. It’s silly but so much fun!!!
Kenny’s had a rough month. He had Lasik (actually ASL which has a longer recovery time) on his eyes back in March, then caught strep throat, and then took a Nerf gun bullet to the eye (at work) that caused a 3 mm scratch on his eye and sent his not-healed-yet eye into trauma. His vision will be ok but since then his pupils have been different sizes and it looks like his eyes are two different colors. The doctor isn’t sure if that will ever fix! But he’s also been able to get in some off-roading trips and has been helping Mike coach football.
