We were lucky enough this past month to take a weekend trip to San Francisco with our best buds! We left Kayli with my parents for the weekend and she did great. Kenny had never been to San Francisco before and we had a blast.
Alcatraz was pretty cool and Kenny loved it.
After Alcatraz, we ate lunch at some random Grilled Cheese shop we found and it was pretty amazing!
We also did a tour of the city on a double decker bus. It was fun and relaxing and we actually didn’t get off anywhere because we enjoyed just riding around. We rode it across the Golden Gate Bridge but unfortunately it had gotten really cold, windy, and overcast. I went over most of the bridge sitting on the floor of the bus to block the wind!
We were so cold that we thought soup bowls would be perfect for dinner and we were all wanting a good soup bowl really bad. None of us are seafood eaters though and everywhere we stopped had only clam chowder. We wanted broccoli cheese and didn’t think it would be impossible to find! We finally settled on Panera Bread-which is funny because we can have that anywhere-but the soup bowl was delicious and definitely satisfied my soup bowl craving! Then we had to stop at Ghirardelli Square for dessert…
We drove down Lombard Street which I think is awesome and then we drove to the Full House houses.
This is kind of a funny picture but here we are with our pregnant bellies!
I love Fisherman’s Wharf! I think the shops are pretty cool and so unique.
And finally, we had to take a trolley ride.
Children’s Discovery Museum
Teachers got in free here for awhile so I thought I’d take Kayli. I wasn’t sure if there’d be much for her to do or if she’d be very interested in anything but she totally was! It was really fun to watch her! Grandma England and Kim (Kayli calls her Mimmy) came with us.
Shopping at the grocery store…
She was a really cute cashier…
Father’s Day!
Kenny is a great dad. He is perfect at being a fun daddy to Kayli. She just thinks he is sooooo funny. She loves to call him all day, every day and she knows who he is in my phone. Her new thing is to sit down with an old keyboard we gave her and type him an e-mail.
I LOVE THESE TWO! Kayli gave daddy a Hershey bar covered in an iPod case she made in nursery. That’s a perfect gift for her daddy! Then, since she mastered the actions to “Daddy’s Homecoming” by Father’s Day, she gave him a big jar filled with Hershey kisses and hugs that has some of the words to the song.
Kenny and I both have amazing dads too. We are very lucky!
Kayli’s First Haircut!
Kayli doesn’t have a lot of hair but it needed to be shaped so Grandma Eliason came to the rescue! I thought Kayli would hate everything about the haircut but she actually loved it and sat there perfectly the entire time.
Kayli at 19 months!
1. Kayli is currently on a diaper strike! She likes to take off her diaper and climb up on to the big toilet. We just got her own little toilet and now she will sit there and read a book for about 2 seconds before she’s done trying. When she’s done, though, she doesn’t want the diaper back on.
2. She loves to change her clothes all day and come up with some pretty interesting outfits. I don’t even have pictures of her best ones…
3. She likes to help me clean-in a beanie and diaper. Hopefully she keeps up her love for cleaning forever!
4. She likes singing and dancing. Her favorite song at the moment is the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Hot Dog dance song (sorry if I just put that song into your head!). She sings “hot dog” all day long. She also loves “Popcorn Popping”, the daddy song (“Daddy’s Homecoming”) and the Grandpa song (“When Grandpa Comes”) and she has me play those three songs on the piano all the time.
5. She loves picking cherry tomatoes from Grandma and Grandpa England’s garden. She knows which ones are ripe and that she has to go wash them before she eats them. It’s so cute to watch!
6. We got to go see my friend, Heather’s, newborn baby. Kayli held her and just smiled so big. She was really good at holding still and wanted to give her kisses. She will be a great big sister in about 7 weeks!

She is SO cute! I love reading all about her!
