For her 3rd birthday, Kayli wanted a Princess and Pirate party so the girls dressed up in princess dresses and the boys dressed up as pirates. They were all adorable! My family all walked in dressed up too-even my dad! It was such a fun party. The kids played Pin the Tiara on the Princess, they walked the plank, and went on a treasure hunt. I don’t love planning parties but it was worth it because the kids had fun!
Kenny made a pirate ship out of pallet boards and decorated the trampoline to be a castle…
I found this cake on Pinterest and REALLY wanted to copy it but wasn’t too sure of my cake-decorating skills. Luckily, Kenny is quite the talented cake maker/decorator and totally helped me out! Haha. It was actually pretty simple.
Her actual birthday was November 24th.
Kayli helped Grandma make some Barbie cakes for her birthday dinner and then the cousins had fun playing together!
At 3 years old Kayli is so much fun. She loves to help around the house. She likes to do laundry, unload the dishwasher, dust, set the table, and she’s really fast at picking up toys. She loves to watch Disney Junior Shows and she loves to memorize songs. She listens to songs over and over and after a few times picks up on the words. She never thinks she’s tired. She loves when people come to her house or when she gets to go to grandmas’ houses. She wears princess dresses or ballet clothes most of the day. She loves to dance and has picked up some ballet moves from somewhere-I have no idea where. She wants to be in a ballet class. She loves playing Candyland and has the rules down pat. She loves to bake. She has to give Beau “kisses and hugs” every single time he goes to sleep. She always asks Kenny and me if she can have something by asking for that thing and adding “because you love me…”. Smart girl! Her memory is insane. She also says that her hair is growing long like Tangled (which it isn’t) because she eats the bread crusts (which she doesn’t). If only that really worked…A few recent pictures of her…
She insisted on wearing her Doc McStuffins outfit to the doctor’s office…
Our 5 year anniversary was November 22! Kenny surprised me and we went and stayed up at Mount Charleston. It actually ended up snowing and we drove part of the way watching the snow! When we woke up there was tons of snow! We looked out our windows to white everywhere. It was fun but also nice that we came down the mountain to no snow at home.

Today…
Thanksgiving morning we ran the Turkey Trot with Kenny’s family. It’s become tradition! Then we ate breakfast with all of them and had dinner with my family. We played games and looked at all the ads to get our Black Friday game plan ready. That night we went to FLIPnOUT with all of Kenny’s family. Then I went and stayed the night at my mom’s house and we all got up at 4:30 to go shopping-we do it every year and we love it! Since all of the stores opened up on Thanksgiving we were nervous everything we wanted would be gone if we waited until the morning but actually-it was the best Black Friday shopping ever! No crowds at all! No lines, no crazy people-and we got everything we wanted.
It’s Christmas time! We had a Christmas breakfast and had a special visitor on our doorstep! Kayli named our elf Penzy. I haven’t taken any other pictures of what he’s done! The kids sure love getting up every morning and finding where he is.
Beau had so much fun chucking ornaments-until one broke.
Kayli is especially loving this time of year. She actually talked to Santa at our ward Christmas party! We weren’t sure if she would or not. She asked for Frozen princess dresses for Christmas. She is learning the nativity story and loves to drink hot chocolate, look at Christmas lights, watch Christmas shows, read Christmas books, and do other Christmasy things! She’s also told me what she wants to get everyone for presents. She really thinks that her grandmas will want babies and her grandpas will want dinosaurs…
We saw Frozen! It was seriously one of the cutest movies. The music is awesome. It was Kayli and Beau’s first movie. Kayli did great but Beau-not so much. He stuffed his face full of popcorn during the previews and was so quiet but as soon as he was over that he was not good. Kenny watched most of the movie from the hallway. Kayli is obsessed with Frozen now and likes to act out the movie and sing the songs.
We got to hang out with J&M and Lexi for a few hours as they headed home from Utah.
Yesterday we went to the new Craig Ranch Park with Alise and Aidan and wow! It’s really cool. We loved the cement slides!
Beau is just about 16 months. He has become a rambunctious, loud, little boy! He loves to throw things and then crack up. He also feels the need to squeal or scream all the time. He’s discovered that there are more toys in the world than just what his older sister plays with and now loves to drive his cars around the house. He also loves to jump all over the couch and has jumped off head first a few times now. He really likes playing pretend with Kayli. He’s usually the prince.
We got him out of the car like this the other day. His cup had spilled but we thought it was funny.
We kinda can’t get over Beau’s face in this one…
