Time sure is flying by! Kayli is 10 months!? I remember the first few weeks after she was born-how hard they were! It seems every stage has it’s hard moments-and they’re all worth it! I feel like she’s a little girl now-not just a baby! She has personality, she does her own thing, she can communicate with us, and she can bite me when she’s mad! (Not kidding, but again, it’s worth it!) At 10 months, Kayli is walking-and I love it! It makes it seem like she’s a big girl and she likes running up and down the hall, or running to find Kenny or me, or running around the halls at church. She even ran onto a soccer field the other night to go shoot some goals with some little boys. Kayli loves…
1. Peaches
2. Getting licked by dogs
3. Stuffed animals
4. Reading books-by herself.
Here’s some recent pictures of our little Kayli baby…
Kayli is playing with Lily, Russ and Rachel’s dog. She loves Lily! I’m surprised by how well she plays with her since we don’t have a dog. She is pretty fearless with the dogs.
Riding Adam’s cool 4 wheeler…
I thought she looked so cute the way she plopped down here in front of the TV…
Haha…
I absolutely love this face…
Kayli LOVES books. Her favorite thing to do now is to pull every single book out of this bookcase. Then she reads them. She turns the pages so perfectly and it’s so darn cute. Can’t resist the pictures…
Cousin Adam pushing Kayli in the stroller at the mall…
And here’s our girlie walking…
Kayli is too funny when Kenny gets out his guitar and sings and plays. She just listens and watches him so intently. Then she tries to play too.
One of my favorite things about this time of year is going to high school volleyball games! I’ve been going to games every year since I played! Now that all my sisters are graduated, we don’t go to Vegas games, but we go to Shadow Ridge to see Kaci (Kenny’s little sister) play. And I love it! Kayli loves balls so when we walk into the gym and she sees all the volleyballs flying around during warm-ups, she goes crazy. She would run out to the court and play herself if I’d let her. Now that she is walking, she likes to climb up the bleachers, walk across the top, and then crawl down the bleachers-and do it all again. Luckily Grandpa does the rounds with her…
I love these pictures…playing with her daddy at Outback…
Well I’ve got to back track a bit and talk about our last San Diego trip that we took in August. We had our apartment through the end of the month and had to clean and turn in keys and all that. We got in late Friday night and slept at our empty apartment. Then early Saturday morning we went to breakfast with the neighbors, Courtney and Josh, and Josh and Mandy. It’s always like normal when we hang out again and being with all them again makes me miss them so much! It’s always good times! We had to go to the beach, of course, and tried to play beach volleyball but the sand was burning hot! That afternoon we went to the Del Mar horse races. I had never been to horse races before and it was actually kind of cool! We stood right up by the track and Kayli liked the horses.
That night we put Kayli to bed and then the rest of us played Train (the dominoes game) at our apartment. We had to just sit on the floor and our dominoes stood up on boogie boards and books. After a while we were sore from laying trying to play with dominoes that kept falling over. I don’t know how we got started but we were thinking of all the things we could do, running around in an empty apartment…somebody mentioned Heads Up Seven Up…and then we may or may not have played! I thought back to my school teaching days and those rainy day games…remember Four Corners? Well it was perfectly good fun for the 6 of us! We were dying and had as much fun as the third graders had playing that game. We played forever too! Haha…fun memories. Well our weekends in San Diego are definitely fun!
For Labor Day we met Josh and Mandy in Newport Beach for the long weekend and Mandy’s birthday! They brought their dog, Boston. Kayli loves him and she is good now at not pulling his hair! He was so funny with her too because he always wanted to be right by her-almost like he was protecting her.
Mandy shared her Cheesecake Factory Red Velvet Cheesecake with us…it might be my new favorite!
Newport is beautiful! I wouldn’t mind living there…
Josh and Mandy had never been up to Huntington Beach and that is where I always went to the beach with my best friends from home. Ruby’s out on the pier is a must!
We also rode a ferry to Balboa Island…I think that’s what it is called. The island had really cute beach houses and fun shops. The ferry ride was only about 5 minutes long. We even rode it a second time…inside our car! Kenny would want you to know that they said no guns on the ferry…but he was able to sneak his on anyway.
We also rode this really cool bike along the beach. It’s called a surrey. There was a seatbelt thing up front so we strapped Kayli and Boston up there, mostly for pictures, but then they did so good up there that we rode around like that too. Everyone we passed thought it was the cutest thing ever. Maybe it wasn’t the safest thing ever…but Boston protected Kayli the whole way with his head and paw right next to her and a little in front of her. Too cute!
And Kayli got to go on her first Merry-Go-Round ride…
