The boys have been on some off-roading trips of course!
We headed to St. George for only about 24 hours so that we could meet up with Grandma and Grandpa Varney, Uncle David and mom and dad for a show at Tuacahn. I’ve been wanting to take Kayli up there for awhile now and so when we heard about meeting everyone we jumped on it. We saw Cinderella and Kayli loved it! We stayed the night and of all days and hotels, Kenny’s parents happened to be staying there that night too. It was too crazy! So we got to have hotel breakfast buffet with my parents and Kenny’s parents. We met David and Grandma and Grandpa and went to walk around the St. George temple and then went to the cute candy shop and played around. It was so fun to be able to see them so soon after leaving Orem just the week before. We don’t get to see them that much so I love when we do get to!
We finished another season of soccer in June and man it’s fun! Kenny ordered us jerseys to represent NeONBRAND. We love them! And no broken tailbone this season so that’s good.
The next weekend we went to Brianhead with most of my family. It was so nice to get out of the heat! We stayed in a cute cabin and the kids loved playing around with cousins and having a sleepover every night. We celebrated Adam’s and Trey’s birthdays, took the kids to ride on the bike trail, played games, did puzzles, went fishing, and the guys went mountain biking. Kenny and Russ wrecked pretty bad but luckily are ok. Kenny broke his finger and Russ had some pretty bad road rash. They even got it all on video and it’s pretty funny. Beau and Adam LOVED fishing. They were determined to catch a fish so they ended up there for a long time but finally Beau did catch one! They came home and cooked it and he even ate it and pretended to like it. Ha. We went to Cedar Breaks on our way home and it was pretty incredible!
We did something a little different this year for the 4th of July. We went to Warm Springs with a bunch of friends! We had a huge potluck, swam, the kids got in the river, tried to get Kayli to jump off the cliff the entire time, and then watched the Moapa fireworks on the side of the road on our way back to town. It was a great time! We did sparklers out front the next night.
Adam was baptized! It was fun seeing that and Kayli is next! We had a good time with Russ’ family at their house afterwards.
Trey turned 3! We sure love this crazy, loving boy. All he had asked for was a barn for his birthday. He is obsessed with animals and making zoos. A few days before his birthday, Kenny and I took just Trey to Target to let him look at toys. We got him a big box of animals and the barn. He was so cute and we took him to McDonalds afterwards too- just us and Trey which never happens! We went to FLIPnOUT with some of his friends the night before his birthday. His birthday was Sunday but at least he got to see his nursery friends that day. He requested a blue cake so we threw some animals on top of a blue frosted cake and called it good.
We went bowling with mom and dad. Trey was pretty good except he kept throwing the ball so hard onto the other lane and getting it stuck.
I had a great birthday too. I just wanted to be out of the house staying busy and eating yummy food and I got that! I went to breakfast with Erin and Haley and then we went and got Splash drinks and shopped for a bit. I came home for a minute and then headed to Downtown Summerlin with Kayli to meet mom and Kelli. We ate at CPK and shopped around there and then headed home. Kenny told me he’d figure out a babysitter so that him and I could go out to shop for new tennis shoes and go to dinner. I didn’t know he had gotten mom and she didn’t tell me so she just showed up at my house a few minutes after me. Kenny and I went down to Fashion Show Mall, shopped around for a bit and then ate at Cheesecake Factory. When we got home we decided it had cooled down enough that we’d go play Spikeball with Erin and Mike. Me and Erin love challenging Mike and Kenny and we do win sometimes! Stu came down to hang out with the kids and we went and played! The first park we were at closed before we were done and so we tried another park and it was pretty dark and then the sprinklers came on so we ended up playing on the splash pad but we had a lot of fun and it was a great day!
We got to go to the temple with Kaci! We’re excited for her wedding soon!
We went to the Children’s Discovery Museum with mom, Lindsay, and Heather Leedom. It was so good to catch up with Heather. Good thing mom came to help with kids because it was a little hard to keep track of them all! The kids loved Eco City the most. They thought the shopping and the hospital were awesome but loved it all. They also really wanted to put on a play on the stage but were too nervous that other people might see them!
Our kids are obsessed with playing street hockey with Trey, Talon, Owen and Alexis. It is quite the party. Until last week when it became unbearably hot outside, the kids would play outside by about 3:00 until 9:00 at night. They’d get the hose out and stay drenched until it cooled down a bit at night. They come in sooooo dirty and sweaty. Beau is by far the worse though. We love sitting out there at night with them and watching all the kids play and hanging out with neighbors. They love the older neighbor kids and they are all so sweet to my kids. They sure are quite the hockey lovers! One night our sweet neighbors left a fun surprise at our door. There was a bucket with the kids’ names on it filled with squirt guns, bubbles, and otter pops. Then that night they came out and met us for a huge water fight! It was so much fun and we love our street and neighbors so much!
We’ve been swimming lots this summer. Beau loves to lay out afterwards with his towel over his head.
The kids camped out in our living room in their own tents.
Kayli is loving summer break but is also ready for school. She is excited about her new teacher and loves picking out her school supplies, outfits, and has everything ready to go already. She is up at 6:00 am most days and likes to keep busy so she’s always coming up with creative things to play. She went to Art Camp last week with Milani and loved that Kalli Rodriguez was her teacher. She has always wanted to be a teacher but now says she wants to be an art teacher! She came home every day and told me all about the artists she learned about and then taught us how to do the art projects. Her classroom in our loft is now an art classroom covered in projects. We ordered her some pastels and she has gotten right to work teaching Beau all the projects she learned. She is a great helper to me and so good with Trey and Sami.
Trying on dresses for Kaci’s wedding…
Beau lost his first tooth on July 26th. His permanent tooth is completely in behind it though so it doesn’t even look like he lost a tooth! He plays sports so hard and is getting so good at hockey. He liked playing P.E. teacher the other day.
Trey is so crazy. He recently smeared poop on my van. One night at one of my soccer games dad and Kenny told him that Grandma was on her way. He decided he’d go wait for her. When mom got there she saw Trey out by himself. He was just out waiting for Grandma! Dad and Kenny didn’t even know he was outside. Haha. He is still so loving. We like to go say hi to Sis. Hunt during church since she isn’t in our ward anymore. He loves to give her and Sis. Pollock big hugs. Sis. Pollock brought him over a huge Paw Patrol bag filled with lots of Paw Patrol things for his birthday. He loves her so much and loved his present. He likes to ride his pedal bike with no training wheels up the hill by our house and then down really fast. He’s pretty good on the bike! He likes to go to Target but isn’t very good while we are there. He always asks to go to Splash too and how can I resist? 🙂
Sami is almost 1 and it’s making me so sad! She just seems like a little kid to me all of a sudden. She plays with toys and is standing up against things, and eats lots of food and loves it all. She points at everything now and waves and says hi. She likes swimming and dancing. She loves looking at pictures on the wall and points and gets excited. She has the best skin and is pretty tan and it’s pretty funny because her little wrists and leg rolls are so white. She only wants mom to hold her though and pretty much won’t go to anyone else unless I’m not around. She’s a sweet little thing though and we are pretty obsessed with her.
More of the kids…
