GIRL! We found out at about 14 weeks that the baby was most likely a girl but it was confirmed at our 19 week ultrasound today. The kids are so excited. Kayli and Beau both wanted a baby sister. I feel great lately, not too big yet, not sick or hungry all the time anymore, and I can still work out and play sports just fine. But I know that heartburn is right around the corner, which is the worst symptom of pregnancy for me every time! But hey, I’m half way done!
We went to the last home Rebel game of the season because Kami and Kory had floor seats tickets that they were given so we couldn’t pass up going! And it was a ton of fun! There’s nothing quite like watching a basketball game from the floor-even if it was UNLV. We had a blast and they even won!
Kayli had a really fun Reading/Spirit Week. She loved the dress-up days and that she got caught reading at home by Mrs. Buell. She even got to go to the “camp-out” with the principal for reading a ton during the month. She has really improved in reading and is really enjoying it now. I find her and Beau both reading and sounding out words in bed after we’ve tucked them in at night. And even Trey has caught on and asks for a book in his crib when we lay him down. It’s fun to watch them learn and master new things! Her head is cut off but here are pictures from Pirate Day and Mismatched Day.
I finally got together with Heather and Alise to do a girls’ night dinner (we missed Casey and Jill). We went to one of our old favorites from back in the day-Coyotes and it’s still as delicious as ever! It was fun catching up and we were there way too long!
The kids sure had fun learning about St. Patrick’s Day in school. We had Lucky Charms with green milk for breakfast and even found that a leprechaun had come to our house in the night! Trey thought it was so funny!
One Saturday when we were out by the airport we decided to finally stop and let the kids watch the planes land. We’ve talked about doing that for years but never do since it’s not very close. They boys thought it was awesome.
We have an awesome group of friends in our ward and we get together lots to do fun things with the kids. One day we took them to Gravady which is always a hit with the kids. Beau is crazy and did front flips in to the foam pits and Trey even loved it and was pretty crazy himself!
We got to go with Beau on his field trip to Red Rock. It was great! I got there and then realized I had no shoes for Trey and we couldn’t really take strollers. Luckily Beau had an extra pair that kind of fit Trey and so he ran around crazily as usual in shoes that were too big for him. Luckily most of the mom’s there were my friends and helped carry him or helped keep track of him. Beau loved the animal scavenger hunt and was so funny with the tour guide. He was so interested in everything and loved asking questions. He loved exploring with his friends after we ate lunch. We decided we need to take dad and Kayli out there!
Kenny turned 34 on the 19th! Saturday we went with friends to BJ’s and then off-roading up to Little Red Rock. There’s an awesome view of the city from up there and we had a fire and s’mores. Sunday he didn’t have any meetings so he got to stay home and have croissant sandwiches for breakfast and play video games with the kids all morning which is all he wanted to do. That night we went to his mom’s for dinner and cheesecake for his birthday treat. And of course for his b-day present he got Monster Jam tickets.
Beau and Kenny went to Monster Jam the next weekend with Mike, Benny, and Parker and they met up with the Ellsworths for the show. Beau and Benny have been so excited for months to go. They are obsessed with Monster trucks so this was pretty awesome for them! It was so windy that day though, and Beau got dust in his eye really bad and totally scratched his eye. He was pretty miserable and had to get it flushed out and even fell asleep after that. Then he watched the whole show with one eye (Kenny had to hold his hand over his eye the whole time because it hurt too bad for him to keep it open). They still had a blast. Me, Kayli, Trey and Erin and Elise went to Cafe Rio, Ulta, and Coldstone. Kayli was so excited to get nail polish and ice-cream and when we got home and put Trey to bed we painted nails and then ate our ice-cream while we watched a movie. It was a fun night for us too!
Kayli got to go to The Little Mermaid at the Henderson Pavilion with Grandma England and Emma. It got out late so she spent the night at Grandma’s then met us at Beau’s soccer game the next morning.
Beau is playing soccer again and this year he loves it and plays! He does awesome too. He is aggressive, likes to get to the open space, runs fast and scores on breakaways. All the players on the team are friends so it’s fun for all of us. I love watching him play!
We’ve already been out swimming! They opened our neighborhood pool a few weeks ago and we took advantage when the weather was warm.
Kayli went on a field trip to the Smith Center to see Peter Rabbit and I got to be the chaperone! She got to ride a school bus for the first time and the kids were so cute all dressed up for the play.
We went with a bunch of friends to the Springs Preserve. The kids had a blast and we even did the Butterfly Exhibit which I thought was pretty cool. Beau was afraid the butterflies would land on him but Trey thought they were so neat!
Kayli and Beau did great at the dentist. It’s nice having Holli clean their teeth and she even let’s them help.
The kids have been enjoying our backyard since the weather’s been so nice. Kenny put a slack line up back there and they love practicing on that and the trampoline. Beau also loves playing basketball back there. He is perfecting his dribble and loves shooting. It’s fun playing with him!
Kayli is doing really well in school and hasn’t missed a full day of school yet! She also loves her Primary class and teachers, Sis. Allred and Sis. Pike. She still plays school after school for hours. She just lost another tooth and has 4 more that are loose! She can be super helpful and super full of attitude. You never know!
Beau loves school. He loves his friends and Mrs. Kim and is so excited for school days. He is also loving reading and picking it up so fast. He loves learning to play video games when we let him play. He is a very good big brother to Trey. He always makes sure the net on the trampoline is zipped when the kids are on and always helps Trey get down. It’s the sweetest thing to watch. He is loving soccer and learning to play basketball. He’ll go out and shoot hoops and dribble for long periods of time and tells me he is out practicing. He’s also the only one who will sit and watch a few minutes of March Madness games with me. He is obsessed with why we don’t take the Lord’s name in vain and why it’s ok to say God at some times and not then. He is always asking if certain ways to say things are ok or not. We also never want to forget how he says “next time” instead of tomorrow. Or “last time” instead of yesterday. He’s finally kind of grasping the concept of tomorrow so it really confuses him if I say “next time we do this….” or “next time we go there…” and he’ll say ” so tomorrow?” and I’ll have to say “well no not tomorrow but the next time we go…” it’s hilarious. He also loves to spell out words and is constantly asking us how to spell things or if words on signs say this… we can always hear him whispering and he’s sounding out words or figuring out spellings to words. He’s a sharp one. If only his penmanship was neat… but that will come!
Trey is a handful. He is full of energy and personality and is always into everything. But he’s also the cutest, most loving little boy. I get frustrated with him easily but Kenny always says, “but look how cute he is” and it’s true. It’s hard to get mad at him but he is crazy! He is always playing in his diaper and taking his pants and diaper off. I’ve cleaned up multiple poop messes, done so much extra laundry, and even stepped barefoot in poop I didn’t see on his floor! He takes lots of showers too. He loves to get in to make-up and has dumped dry shampoo all over him and the house before. I have a hard time even getting ready in the mornings for 5 minutes because you really can’t take your eye off of him for 2 seconds. He does what the older two do, including dragging a stool over to the counter, getting out bread, and sticking it in the toaster oven, turning it on, and making himself some toast. Yikes! He is always on the counter trying to get his own snacks or cups. It’s scary. Can’t take your eye off of him. He won’t stay buckled in a cart or stroller anymore and isn’t afraid to try jumping right out. We basically can’t take him shopping anymore. He is still so loving though and gives everyone he knows hugs when he sees them. Whenever I come home or he sees me for the first time in the morning he runs and gives me the biggest hug. He loves to watch Trolls, Moana, and Beauty and the Beast and likes reading books. He’s also getting really good on the trampoline. He can do all of the actions to Popcorn Popping and he loves nursery!
