November 24th was Kayli’s 2nd birthday! The older she gets the more fun special occasions are becoming. I was so excited for her to wake up the morning of her birthday and see her door decorated with streamers and balloons. We had Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast in honor of her Mickey party that day. She had been so fun talking about her Mickey party at the park. We had a simple party with a few friends and it was so much fun. She had been talking about it for so long that she probably thought it would never come.
Blowing out the candles…
Cute kids…notice all the boys-Ryan, Quinn, Kyan, Adam, and Jace. (Kayli needs some girl friends in her life!)
Even Charlie got to come to the party!
Kayli is all of a sudden into princesses so she loved her princess dress up stuff!
The shopping cart was a hit…especially with the boys! We’ve got lots of pictures of all the boys fighting over the pink princess shopping cart…and the dads taking the cart away from their own son and handing it to a different boy!
Happy Birthday Kayli! At 2 she is so much fun. Kenny and I marvel every day at the things she is learning to do and say. She loves to help with Beau. She knows how to help him stop crying and is always saying “HI BEAU!” really loud in his face…he doesn’t like it but it makes us laugh every time. Her favorite song right now is “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift and she can sing the chorus and she dances to the entire song. She also loves listening to kid songs in the car and can sing most of the songs. She’s becoming quite the talker. We sure love our 2 year old!
To back track a bit…Halloween was a blast this year! Kayli totally got the hang of trick-or-treating and we had lots of opportunities to go.
She loves cake walks…what little kid wouldn’t…
Beau’s first Halloween in his “Don’t Scare Me I Poop Easily” outfit…
Adam made a very cute Woody…
Aunt Kim and baby Emma…
Halloween is also my dad’s birthday so we spent the night at his house and then at his ward’s Trunk-or-Treat. The kiddos love their Grandpa!
Kayli HATED carving pumpkins. She loves pumpkins though so I guess she didn’t like that we were cutting into the poor pumpkin…
Other recent happenings…we used our fire pit for the first time with the Ellsworths! The kids did great around the fire and loved it of course because it involved marshmallows.
We also took Beau on the trampolines at his Granpda’s place, FlipNout!
Heather, Julia, and I took the kids to the Gilcrease Orchard. I had never been before but it was so much fun! I didn’t feel like I was in Las Vegas anymore. Kyan and Kayli loved running up and down the rows of apple trees and finding good apples to keep. They also have the best apple cider donuts! Can’t wait to go back next season!
Bellagio Gardens and Fountains…Kayli’s obsession with pumpkins led us to taking her to see the gigantic pumpkins out at Bellagio. My family came with us. The kids LOVED the fountains too and kept dancing around together to the music.
I love Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving this year also happened to be our fourth anniversary! Time flies! We weren’t really going to do anything too special since we have a baby we can’t leave for long but randomly Kenny’s friend called and asked if we wanted to go see the new Blue Man Group show. Perfect! So we got to get away for a few hours and see the show and it’s awesome-better than the last one!
This year we ran a 5K and played football with Kenny’s family like we did last year. Fun traditions! Kayli even ran some of the 5K! Then we ate dinner with the Eliasons and had dessert over at my parent’s house. That night my family and Kenny’s family (and lots of other family) went to Warehouse Wars at FlipNout and played laser tag. It’s so much fun and if you live in Las Vegas and haven’t been down there to play-you should! We LOVE it! My family and I went Black Friday shopping the next morning. Rachel and I both brought the babies along but dad was such a good sport and sat with them while we would run into stores. I know it’s crazy-but it wasn’t bad at all and we love Black Friday shopping!
Beau was cozy and slept!
Go Kayli!
Beau in his Thanksgiving outfit…
Deck the Halls! Ok I LOVED putting up our Christmas tree this year because Kayli helped and she had so much fun! Christmas is going to be a blast with her around. Check out her concentration as she hangs up ornaments:
Here are some recent pictures of the kiddos:
She loves her new birthday presents…and there’s LOTS of pink in our house since Kayli’s now into princesses…
Look relaxing?
Love that Kayli sleeps with her arm around her volleyball…haha…I checked the camera to see if she was sleeping and sure enough she was! With a volleyball!
She’s also ready for soccer! She’s definitely my daughter! 🙂
Beau holds his head up really well!
Beau is almost 4 months old but here’s what he’s been up to the past month: he rolled over for the first time 2 days before he was 3 months! We’ve been to lots of doctors for him because he has seemed to be in lots of pain most the time but I think we are finally figuring things out and lately he has been feeling better. Chiropractors work wonders with babies! He is so much fun because he just watches me all day and when I look at him he is smiling at me. Talk about melting a momma’s heart! He is cuddly and LOVES to be held which is fun (and sometimes tiring at the same time).
