Stuck in my room with COVID seems like the perfect time to catch up on my blog… yep I caught Covid 3 days before Christmas. So far nobody else in the family has it. We had to cancel all Christmas plans with both sides of our family. We were sick over Thanksgiving break too so it felt like we got behind on all the Christmas things but luckily we fit a lot in the past few weeks. I had presents bought and wrapped and most everything ready to go. I just feel bad that kids have been stuck at home and had to miss out on Christmas things with family but they seem to be doing good hanging out with dad and new Christmas toys.
School pics…still waiting for this year to be awesome for my kids. Luckily, they have good teachers but there are still so many COVID restrictions in CCSD and at our school… hoping the second semester is better.

Trick-or-treating with Eliason cousins and neighbors…
We were given a stay at a Pine Valley Airbnb that was super cool! We almost passed it up because we didn’t really have time for it but we ditched a day of school and work and made it happen and made it back to Vegas Saturday morning by 10:00 for games. The funniest part was when we scootered down the highway trying to calm Kayli down. It turned into a fun adventure (we can’t forget when Kenny tossed the ice-cream cone)!
We went to San Diego with the Eliasons. We hadn’t done a family trip in years and it was fun. The weather was perfect so we got to play at the beach and went to the San Diego Zoo. Mandy came and met us there so that was fun to see them! We did Old Town and Mandy took our pictures. Then we went down to see Kim and Austin in Coronado and meet baby Reef!

Meeting baby Reef…and they were excited to see Lani too. Kayli even pet her!
Kayli and I actually stayed with Kim in Coronado for two more days. I wanted to help her in any way and she said she just wanted to get out, run some errands and just have some fun! We went to Target, walked around the Del and the beach, got ice-cream and yummy food and held Reef lots. It wasn’t super long but worth it! Kayli was excited to miss school to stay and she even stayed with Lani (the dog)!
On their way back to Las Vegas, Kenny took the other three kids to the Safari Park since we have season passes..
Kayli and I flew back to Las Vegas and it was Kayli’s first plane ride. She was pretty excited about it! Unfortunately, our plane got delayed for hours. People kept missing their connecting flights in Vegas and we weren’t sure when we’d actually get on a plane and get home! It all worked out though. We ended up spending lots of money on reading material and snacks to pass the time!
Kayli and Trey finished their soccer seasons. They both improved a lot!
Beau finished his football season. His team was adorable and a very tight, passionate group. We really thought they could win the championship and so when they lost in the semifinals there were lots of tears. One day when this group wins it all the celebration is going to be nuts!
Kayli turned 11! She wanted to have a party on the bus and she planned the whole thing. She made a playlist and just wanted to pick up cousins and a couple friends and drive around town singing songs. And it was a par-tay! We first stopped at the park and had pizza and the kids ran around on the playground. Then we drove to Sonic and got ice-cream sundaes. Then we headed down to the Strip. They thought it was so fun getting waves and stares from people as we drove down. The Grinch even came up to the bus to wave and say hi! We saw the Bellagio fountains from the bus and stopped to get a picture at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. It was a good time and we have a fun video from the night now!
There was no school on her actual birthday so she went shopping with Grandma England and then we went to see Encanto. She wanted Chick-Fil-A for dinner. I think she had a good birthday!
We went to St. George to see the Live Nativity at Tuacahn which was great! We did a train ride and had hot chocolate and even got to see Aunt Cathy and Uncle Dan and Cassie and her family for a minute!
We were so excited to go to The Christmas Express in Alamo this year since it was cancelled last year. It’s so fun to see Santa and Mrs. Clause there! It’s so well done and such a fun thing we do each Christmas!
We did the Giving Machine and ice-skating at Downtown Summerlin with some neighbors. We took Adelle with us and met the Sivertson’s there.
Our ward party was cute and so fun. Kenny was Buddy the Elf!
Mom and Dad took us to the Magical Forest.
Trey started basketball! He was so nervous for this first game but he did great. He hustles! He does really good on defense! Mrs. Buell was in town and came to his game so that was fun! And Mrs. Stetzer and Rhonda happened to be at a gym class there and so they both came in to see Trey play for a bit. They are both so sweet to him too!
The kids had a fun last week of school. Trey had Grinch Day and they all had fun dress-up days. We are looking forward to January when the playgrounds will open, volunteers can go to the school, and clubs will finally start back up. The kids haven’t had these things in almost 2 years! I only got pictures of flannel day at school…
Taylor Christmas party…
Josh and Mandy stayed with us on their way up to Utah and we kept our Santa pancakes tradition alive!
Sami did the cutest Christmas things at preschool. She made a gingerbread house that turned out so cute. Her class had a bakery and parents got to come order cookies and hot chocolate. Sami was the barista and in charge of delivering the hot chocolate to us. They even performed some Christmas songs! They also had a fun Christmas party with some other preschools. Santa came riding in on a train! Sami sat on his lap and he talked to for a long time. It was pretty cute.
Christmas morning…
More of Sami…
Trey likes to spread Christmas cheer… he said we had to deliver poinsettias to Sis. Pollock and Sis. Hunt since that has become tradition so of course I took him and he delivered with a Santa hat on. He also wanted his card to his teacher to be perfect. At the school holiday shop he bought a present for Sami that he was so excited to give her. She opened it early since it was Christmasy and it was a cute reindeer she named Jingles. He was so happy that she loved it. He also was very concerned that I hadn’t decorated my bedroom door for Christmas (his door and walls are covered in crafts he makes so he thinks it’s sad that we haven’t put anything up haha) so he drew and cut out pictures from The Grinch and taped them on my door. He sure is a sweetie!
Beau has been super into learning the Rubik’s cube. His whole class was pretty into it and his teacher ended up getting a mini one for everyone in the class! Over break he’s been watching videos and learning with Kenny and he finally mastered it! He’s also still doing hockey. He is so fun to watch. He scores goals and gets lots of assists but he also hustles back to help on defense and he dives and makes saves all of the time.
