We had a great October and got to do lots of fun Fall/Halloween activities! I loved watching the kids have so much fun with everything we did. Kayli was set on being Elsa so we made an Olaf costume for Trey. Beau has been obsessed with the story of the Three Little Pigs and so he wanted to be a Big Bad Wolf so we made his costume too! I decided to be Little Red Riding Hood to kind of go along with Beau and Kenny last minute edned up being a ghost (and he rode around on his Segway toy). He was a hit like always.
We spent Halloween night with my family since it is my dad’s birthday. We went to dinner with everyone and then went to Rachel’s house for trick-or-treating with the cousins. Then it was back to Rachel’s house for dad’s birthday pie. The kids were so much fun. Kayli hated the houses with dogs and she’d ditch out without even getting candy. And Beau was so friendly and chatted with people and even walked right into some houses for candy! Kenny floated around as a ghost and everyone loved him!
We went to the pumpkin patch with the Cahills and McCormicks.
We did our 2nd annual Haunted House/Zupas date night with Cahills and McCormicks. It’s becoming our tradition and we laugh about the fact that we go to a haunted house. They wouldn’t let all six of us go together so we split up and girls went together and the guys went together. It was pretty funny. Erin ended up sitting in my lap when her chair started spinning and she jumped out. I didn’t know it was her so it freaked me out. She also ditched out at the crawling part since she’s pregnant and Haley and I ended up coming out with the stranger in our group. It was a good/funny time!
We carved and painted pumpkins for FHE. The kids still don’t want to carve a pumpkin. They did a good job painting theirs though!
We went to the Moapa Valley Corn Maze with Kenny’s family. We love it out there! The corn maze is awesome and the carnival rides were pretty fun too. Beau was so funny and wanted to get in the water bubble thing all by himself and he did! I thought for sure he’d skip out once they put air into the bubble but he didn’t-and he loved it! Kayli, Kate, and Owen went with the dads.
We went to the Providence Trick-or-Treating where Kenny had a booth set up for NeONBRAND. It was so hot out though that the kids didn’t do much trick-or-treating! While we were walking around a girl said to me, “hi Mrs. Eliason”. I knew it was someone who knew me from my teaching days but I didn’t recognize her at all! Turns out it was Angelica (who I loved) who I taught 6 years ago! She is in high school now and doing so good so it was awesome to see her.
Our ward trunk-or-treat was fun but it was really cold and windy that night! Trey was bundled up the entire night and Beau was like a wandering wolf who just did his own thing and I had to keep looking for him. Kenny’s family came with us so we could get some good pictures of the cousins together in costumes.
We went to Gilcrease Orchard with my family.
We took England family pictures at the Wetlands. Kim and Austin were able to be here from Idaho. Here’s a sneak preview…
Kenny and his off-roading friends took the older kids out to Nelson’s Landing to off-road Halloween morning. The moms kept the babies and we went to breakfast and shopping so it was fun for everyone! The kids loved exploring and climbing rocks.
We went to a UNLV football game just for fun with the Cahills. Trey got to come too!
Trey is 4 months. He weighs 15 pounds and is in the 66th percentile for weight. He is in the 80th percentile for height, and 94th percentile for head size! Kayli and Beau were always tiny babies so it’s so interesting that he is a bigger baby! He has really found his voice and is loud! He still smiles all the time and has the biggest smile and will smile for anyone-he loves people! He sleeps through the night some nights and other nights wakes up once or twice so I don’t get him! I’m hoping that once we live in our own house and he can be in his own room that he gets better naps and sleep at night and a little more routine in his life! He has rolled over a handful of times. We sure love him!
Beau is such a funny kid. Grandma said today that he spends more time on his head than he does on his feet! And it’s true! He’s always trying headstands and flipping and jumping on things. He needs to be in gymnastics! He loves learning new things and surprises us with new songs that he’s picked up from listening to Kayli all the time! The other day Kayli was singing “Fight Song” and he started screaming the part “this is my fight song”! So while Kayli sang it very pretty he screamed it. It was cracking me up but I was impressed he knew the song because before that I had no idea! He loves nursery and his leaders. He always points them out to me and tells me about his friends in nursery. He loves his friends-especially Bennett and his cousin, Owen. He is always excited to see them. He is obsessed with Blaze and the Monster Machines (along with Owen) and they will sit and watch that show all day long if we let them. He still loves to play with cars. He loves riding his strider bike and he can balance really good. He’s a little crazy on it and is definitely all boy! He can be so cute and lovable at times yet so defiant and difficult at times too. I never know which it’ll be! He has the cutest little voice to us and we love listening to him explain things and sing. He loves to run around in his underwear. He gives the most thoughtful prayers and most of the time they make us laugh. Here are some of the recent things he’s prayed for: “Please bless that I won’t eat so many cookies. Please bless that I will love Trey. Please bless that I won’t watch so much Blaze. Please bless that we can do this (he then signs I Love You). Please bless that I will be nice to Kate and Owen”.
Kayli is almost 5 and it’s crazy to me! She is having so much fun thinking about and planning her birthday party. She loves to organize, make lists, plan things (all so much like me) and she has really been getting good at drawing. She knows how to write all of her letters and loves to play Hang Man. The other day she started playing “math tutor”. She pretended that she was helping me with my math homework. She was so professional sounding and it seems to me like she’s got a lot of teacher in her! She loves preschool and especially all of the songs that she learns there. A recent funny thing she has said recently (while drinking a slurpee) is “I don’t get brain freeze. I get hand and mouth freeze.” She doesn’t miss a beat. She is so with it and understands everything we talk about. She remembers everything!
More of the kids…
Fun with cousins…
Kenny ran Ragnar with a bunch of friends from our ward. The kids loved going to see him on his first run and it was fun to be at the finish line when his team ran in.
And I’m just enjoying this quote…
Random photoshoot outside one night…
And it’s only November 11th but today the mall was decked out for Christmas. We took advantage of the no-wait to see Santa and Beau sat (next to Santa-not on his lap) and told him what he wanted for Christmas-a Blaze monster truck. He was so happy to see Santa and so intrigued by him the whole time. Kayli stayed far away.
Our house is coming along and should be done next week! There’s much more done than this but I don’t have a picture!
