Halloween was a blast. Kayli was set on being a witch and Beau wore a hand-me-down lion costume. Kayli totally understood what was going on and by the end of last night Beau had the hang of it all too. Nothing was cuter to me than watching the kiddos trick-or-treat door-to-door last night. They went trick-or-treating a total of four times this year-but last night was definitely my fave-cutest thing ever.
Halloween is also my dad’s birthday, so every year he get’s a rushed family dinner so that we can all get off to what we are doing for the night. Last night though, my family came trick-or-treating in our neighborhood and then we had a little party for dad/grandpa. Kayli was so excited all day to decorate and to throw balloons all over the house because she knew he would just love it. Haha. My dad is seriously a great person. I love him.
Dad and all his girls…yes, you can feel sorry for him. Hah.
We went to our ward Trunk-or-Treat with most of Kenny’s family. Baby Kate wore a cute little pumpkin costume that Kelsi wore at her age!
Kenny and his dad and little sister can ride a unicycle…crazy, right? So the crazy tradition is to ride one with your baby son on your shoulders!
We did the Providence Promenade Trick-or-Treating in our community with Lindsay and baby Owen in his cute hat.
We also did the Pumpkin Patch with Joe and Kassie and their kids.
We’ve been to Gilcrease Orchard a ton this month but we love it and the kids like running around and I like eating the donuts. We went with Tate, Lindsay, and Owen one day and we saw Kenny’s aunt Stephanie there with all the kids. Kayli loves them and so it was extra fun running around playing with them!
We also went with Rachel and Russ and their joy school one morning.
This year was my high-school 10 year reunion. Some of my friends and I debated for a long time whether or not we wanted to go to it and decided we might have more fun just going out with us and husbands. And we had a super enjoyable night. We did dinner and bowling and stayed out late! It’s fun to get together with our kids to play but it was really, really nice being able to visit kid-free.
McKay thought we needed to celebrate with sparkling cider in the parking lot…Kenny and I both worked with him when we worked at the Tingey Law Firm through college and he married one of my friends from high school, Keresa. The three of us have some really funny memories from our good ‘ol law firm days and McKay and him never disappoint when they get together…they’re pretty funny!
This past week was Kaci’s volleyball senior night…BOO! I’m so sad that our days of watching high school volleyball are coming to an end! The game was pretty fun though and the family was decked out for Kaci.
We love watching BYU football, but this year we REALLY love watching BYU football. I don’t really know why-we just love everything about it. We love going to Kenny’s parent’s house to watch the game. His Grandma and Grandpa are always there watching too and they are huge fans! And Beau doesn’t stop hugging great Grandpa!
The other night we went to an 80’s birthday party for Kenny’s business partner, Joe. We had a good time!
Yesterday we ran the Heart Association 5K with Tingey Law Firm. Both Kenny and I have worked for them and we have lots of friends/family that have worked for them. It was fun! Kenny’s cousin, Holli, and I have been running lots and I really wanted to beat my last 5K time and finish in the 25 minute mark. We did it! I finished at 25 minutes 43 seconds. She beat me by 1 second! Her sprint at the end kills me! Kenny and Emily ran the whole thing together too, good job!
The other night we caught Kayli sneaking into our room to try and sleep with us…She covered her eyes the entire time and then snuck under the blankets so we wouldn’t see her…kids are funny.
I’ve seen this on Pinterest and loved the picture-especially since Kayli loves princesses so much. We had to add a pirate for a super cute picture!
These two kids play pretty good together now-and I’ve caught them being nice to each other a lot lately!
Kayli will turn three this month! More than anything she wants “hair like Tangled”. She is such a good helper. She will do anything for me (but she thinks she deserves a piece of candy after every thing she does). She told me the other day that her belly hurt and it was probably from eating to much sugar. Yeah, probably.
Beau says “daddy” and “dog” now. He says “mom” every now and again. He signs milk but it really means “gimme that”. He has learned how to do a really good witch’s laugh and puts on a witch hat and then does it. He loves to run around in circles. He’s obsessed with dogs and books about dogs.
