Kenny and Beau went to Father’s and sons and Beau had a blast!
Kayli took private swim lessons for two weeks and she is now a swimmer! She was so brave and I know it was hard for her at first, especially because she hated putting her face in the water but she worked so hard and overcame her fears! She did so well in the first few days that her teacher was able to help her learn how to float on her back and stomach, swim free style, back stroke, and butterfly stroke. Her teacher worked her hard and she didn’t even get time to break but it was all so worth it. She was exhausted afterwards and even took a nap every day! We tried to go swimming most nights too so she could practice and she learned to swim under water and do a handstand all by herself. She is a fish! It was so fun to watch her work so hard and do something that wasn’t easy at first but that she consistently tried at and got better and better. I’m so proud of her!
Kayli went to a fun little summer camp that some 10 year old girls in our ward put together. She had a blast and soaked it all in and came home and planned her own summer camp for Beau and his friends. She had a Cars theme and organized a whole day. Luckily, Haley and Erin sent over their kids so that Kayli could do her summer camp for them-and she did a great job!
We went and did Top Golf with the Cahills and Lawsons. It was pretty fun. I thought the venue and the food was even better than the golfing-but I also wasn’t very good at the golfing part. It was such an enjoyable time and the location is awesome-we had a perfect view of the strip.
We didn’t have Fourth of July plans this year and Vegas is always so hot that we didn’t really know what we would do even that morning. We decided to head up the mountain for a hike and some of Kenny’s family came with us. We didn’t know what to do the rest of the day and where to watch fireworks since our community wasn’t putting on the big show this year. Kelsi convinced us to head out to Logandale for their fireworks show so we did that. We ended up having a great time! We had dinner with Nick’s family and went to the fireworks show. After we came back to their house to do our own fireworks show and Nick’s dad showed Beau his cop truck-Beau thought it was all pretty cool! We also caught Beau and Kate dancing to Kaci playing the piano.
Trey boy turned 1! I love age 1! Trey is a fun little kid. He sleeps good and is friendly. He doesn’t say anything except “oh” and sometimes we think he says “hi dad”. He likes to play now and loves to play with cars, sit at the kid table with the kids, read books, sit in his new Cars couch from Grandma, and throw balls. When he hears music he can’t help but dance and he gets most excited about the Justin Timberlake song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. Trey isn’t walking yet and breastfed for a whole year! He didn’t want to give it up. The kids loved throwing balloons in his crib when he woke up and then we went with friends to FLIPnOUT that morning. That night we had a little family birthday party for him. We had desserts and Trey ate his cake. He danced to music the whole time he ate his cake. He was so much fun to watch. Kenny’s parents were out of town for his birthday so they came over before and we went swimming and Trey opened his present.
I turned 31 on the 17th and my birthday was great. It was on a Sunday this year but the whole weekend was so much fun. Me and Kenny went to dinner on Friday night and then walked around Downtown Summerlin. Then on Saturday we went shopping so I could pick out some new workout clothes and a purse. The Kneaders opened that weekend so we went there for lunch. Kenny was such a good sport (he doesn’t love shopping or Kneaders) and I had a lot of fun. That night I went to the Dixie Chicks concert with Erin, Marci and Jessica. We missed all of our other friends who couldn’t come. It was such a fun night-one that I will remember and laugh about forever! Emily was at our family reunion and so she wasn’t there working the concert but she had told me that she could probably hook me up with floor seats (we paid for nosebleeds) and said to get in touch with this girl, Catherine, when we got to the arena. We had a hard time finding Catherine at first and down at the floor nobody knew who we were talking about. Eventually some big whig guy, heard us and asked how he could help. He acted like he would just get us out on to the floor but then came back and said he didn’t have any room. We left to go find Catherine and Marci randomly heard a girl on her speaker say Catherine so we stopped and asked her if she could get us to Catherine and turns out this girl new Emily and we chatted about how she’s my cousin and we found Catherine! Catherine took us to the floor and onto a wheelchair accessible section raised just about the floor so we had awesome seats and the whole section to ourselves! We had an old man usher (who ended up being our best friend) come ask to see our tickets because we shouldn’t be sitting there. We explained that his supervisor put us there and he laughed about how they always do that to him and then started telling us cool things about the arena and how he had no idea who the Dixie Chicks were. Then the big whig guy walked by again saw us and we laughed and said we found Catherine who hooked us up, unlike him. A few minutes later he came back and gave us VIP wristbands-good for anywhere! Everything changed when we had wristbands on! People treat you so differently and we went to explore where we could go! We ended up at the VIP lounge (where Emily has met famous people) but pretty much just looked around since we don’t drink! We had a blast though feeling pretty important. When the concert started we loved singing to Dixie Chicks and we had so much fun! It was such a fun and funny night and now I want to go to concerts all the time! The next day was my birthday but I woke up tired and sore from standing so long! We went to church and then to mom’s for Rachel and my birthday dinner. Trey got sick that night too.
We went to Kids Club with a lot of friends. Trey had a blast!
The kids got to ride in a cute little train for Benny’s birthday.
Trey had a lot of fun at the library. He liked hanging with the big kids and trying out the puzzles. He is getting so big!
Making cookies with Grandma…
Here’s a few more of Trey boy getting so big…
Kayli is getting so big too. She’s practically a teenager. She is so particular about her clothes and never has anything to wear. She loves shopping for clothes and has a whole list of stuff she needs for kindergarten. She was excited to get her backpack and lunchbox. She starts in just over a month! She is always busy planning things, playing pretend, and learning new songs to sing and dance to. She is a huge help. I was sick a few days and she made the boys lunch, started laundry, and watched Trey. We are going to miss her when she’s at school all day!
Beau is too much fun. He keeps us laughing. The other day he came down in just his underwear and it was stuffed full of cars. He couldn’t carry them all so he used his underwear to hold them. He also falls asleep in funny places still. He has lots of friends and loves to play with them. At volleyball one day him and Cole (who is 8) planned a play date so Cole came over and played and Beau had a great time. He loves the older boys! And Cole had fun too so it was funny! He still loves sunbeams and is getting ready to start T-Ball next month. He’s been practicing catching. He wants to learn to swim like Kayli so he’s been practicing with dad. He’s excited about his birthday coming up!
