This is a long one! It’s getting harder and harder to keep up on this because life is busier which means I have more to write about and less time to do it!
For mom’s 60th Birthday we pulled off a surprise trip! We went to St. George for the weekend. The best part was that we got some of her family to come. She was surprised when we all showed up to dinner with her and dad and then to see David and Kayryn show up later at the house and then again later that night when Scott and Cindy showed up. We did Parade of Homes, ate good food and had her birthday dinner at a Mexican Restaurant with even more family. It was a fun weekend! Kenny took the jeep and lots of the boys went off-roading. The jeep broke down and it took almost two months to fix!
We said goodbye to sweet Grandma Taylor and that sure was sad! We will miss her!
Taylor asked Kayli one day if she wanted to try out for a Mary Poppins play with him and she kind of surprised us when she said yes! She had a few singing/acting/dancing classes with Taylor and then she really went to the audition! She has never acted or done anything like this before so were pretty proud of her for even trying! She didn’t get the part but she did something new that wasn’t easy to do!
Trey was really hoping to catch a leprechaun…
Kenny turned 39! We went to the Golden Knights Game, went downtown for dinner and dessert and then checked out Area 51.
Peter Brasher and his family came to town and we met up with them and hiked Lone Mountain. We hadn’t seen Peter in years! Our kids did great hiking and are ready for more hikes!
Our school FINALLY had a family event- a Sock Hop! We’ve been waiting a long time for restrictions to be lifted so that we can do fun events at the school. Kayli got to help serve ice-cream at the dance with she loved doing and Trey loved dancing with all of his friends!
Beau had an end of season hockey party. He won the energizer bunny award because he goes, goes, goes, on the ice. He doesn’t quit or slow down. We really loved playing for Coach Josh and Coach Chris.
The kids started soccer again. Kayli and Beau are on the same team and Kenny is coaching.
We went to Utah for Spring Break. We went to the BYU women’s soccer games. Kayli had met some of the players at a fireside in Vegas and so she was excited to go see them play.
We went to Marlee Allred’s wedding reception and it was so good to see the Allreds! We also got to see the Sagers family! We miss everyone!
We got to see lots of family in Utah. We went to Bridal Veil Falls, the Bean Museum, Thanksgiving Point, ate lots of treats, went bowling, played at the church gym and more!
Colring Easter eggs:
Easter egg hunt with our street:
Easter morning:
We had Easter at the Eliason’s and Taylor made these cute shirts for the cousins:
Kim came to visit for a few weeks and of course we loved seeing her and Reef. Kayli begged to babysit him every day!
One hockey season ended and another one started. We were lucky enough to be on the same team again with the same coaches and lots of the same kids. We got a handful of new boys on the team though including Bennett which is so fun! Beau also discovered that if he moved to defense he’d get more playing time (and he’s a great defender!) so he is playing defense, stopping lots of goals, and he’s assisting and scoring goals too! Beau has never been in the penalty box before this season but in the first game Beau and Bennett got put in there at the same time! It was too funny. Bennett went in first and a few seconds late Beau joined him! It’s so fun to watch this new team. They pass a lot, they look so good out there and we love the boys, the families, and the coaches! Their team is currently undefeated and in first place!
After two years, Field Day is back! The kids loved it!
Take Your Kid to Work Day…
Kindergarten Round-Up… after months of not knowing if Sami could start Kindergarten based on the new law and going back and forth between Kindergarten plans and preschool plans… it looks like she can start and she wants to so she is all registered! She loved going to the school and seeing a Kinder room and teachers/staff (so many that she already knows from having siblings at the school her whole life!)
Mother’s Day was great! I feel very lucky to be these kids’ mom!
Kayli and Beau had a piano recital:
Kayli is busy with all the end-of-the-year activities which we are so happy are happening for her! She missed out on lots in her elementary experience but I think we’re ending with some excitement! She has decided on a middle school for next year and now she’s excited for that and choosing electives, meeting new friends, and all the responsibility that will come next year! She is loving young women’s and being in her class presidency. She’s excited for Girls Camp, sports camps and babysitting this summer.
Beau mostly plays knee hockey and eats cereal when he’s home but we have gotten him reading more (finally!) He has had the best teacher this year who really made school fun (despite all the restrictions most of the year). I’m so sad this year is about to end for him because he has really thrived in 4th grade and I give her all the credit!
Trey loves to read. He also loves playing school and making Google Slides and setting up classrooms. I always know he’s been making crafts when I come up the stairs and there are construction paper strips, tape, scissors, glue, and markers all over the desk at the top of the stairs. He’s about to lose his front tooth and I can’t wait to see his toothless smile! He is almost done with 1st grade and it has me so sad. He is not little Trey Boy anymore! He likes soccer and scores lots of goals but he is also learning how to pass the ball and it’s fun to watch his team work together more.
Sami will finish preschool this week and it has me so sad! She has had such a fun year and I’m sad to see it all be over. She is also doing swimming lessons right now and is getting so good!
I try to play lots of Pickleball, I help at the school once or twice a week and I started subbing once a week back in February. I love being back in the classroom! I am probably done for now until next school year but it sure has been fun! I keep plenty busy with everything and I love that life is back to normal for my kids. I think I am actually looking forward to summer and having them home! Before I know it, August will be here and they will all be in school which has me feeling a little weird!
Kenny is busy with church callings, coaching soccer, his new startup, and more! Here are lots of youth activity pics…
