In some ways we were sad to see the end of the school year come (Kayli finishing elementary school, Sami finishing preschool) but in other ways it was nice to be done. Our kids still faced some COVID restrictions (like Kayli and Beau had to eat lunch in their classrooms all year) and we were ready to be done with school and hopefully start next school year completely normal! Hoping!
End of preschool fun…
Sami finished preschool and had the cutest graduation. She had such a fun year in preschool and loved having Audra and Jake in her class. Those three had so much fun getting to play at each other’s houses so much. I’m sad that they’ll be separated next year but Sami will be going to Kindergarten and she’s really excited about it. I know her Kindergarten teacher pretty well and we’re excited about her!
Kayli didn’t get to do any clubs in elementary school (I’m still bitter about it) due to COVID restrictions except one at the very end of the year- the music teacher luckily put together an ensemble group and she joined so that she could do something! It wasn’t the club she really wanted to do but I’m glad she did it and the music teacher was very happy to have her since she knows music so well!
Yearbook signing parties…
The school did everything possible to make 5th grade graduation normal and special and I’m so glad they did. Kayli earned straight A’s. She loved the 5th grade clap out and BBQ. She was sad to say goodbye to some of her favorite teachers like Mrs. Q, Mrs. Gubler and Mrs. Darland. Mrs. Gubler even told her if she ever wanted a library book to email her and let her know and they she’d send it home with her siblings. Kayli was blessed with awesome teachers who really loved her throughout her time at Bozarth. She’s now so excited for middle school! She will be going to Somerset Skye Canyon right by our house! She was so excited to pick electives and even started volleyball intramurals! I think she is going to love having multiple classes and staying organized.
Beau’s teacher was amazing this year and I give her so much credit for showing Beau that school can be fun, cool and worthwhile! He grew so much this year, especially in reading. It was fun helping her out this year and working with Laurel. Beau finished the year with almost straight A’s… he had one really high B and when he found that out he was like oh shoot, I could have gotten an A! He even scored high enough on Math Maps testing that he was invited to do a 6th grade accelerated math course during his 5th grade year. It’s all on his own, online, which isn’t too exciting but we might give it a try.
Trey also had really good grades and read so much this year! He takes lots of pride in being a reader and I love it. As soon as school was out we made a summer reading plan with lots of goals for our summer reading. We also started Harry Potter with the kids and Kenny and I are loving it (we’ve never given Harry Potter much of a chance before now) and I think the kids are liking it too. Trey also got the 2nd grade teacher he really wanted and he is so excited for school to start again. I hope this is his year! He hasn’t had a single normal school year and I hope his love for learning and having fun can really take off this year with no restrictions (hopefully!).
Las day of school…
Fathers and Sons…
Kenny was rear ended on the freeway. This is the other car. He was pretty sore and is still seeing a chiropractor and pain management doctor. Luckily he was in his big jeep!
The kids finished their soccer seasons and everyone had tons of fun playing. Kenny coached Beau and Kayli and they only lost to one team and when they played that team again the last game they tied so they thought it was pretty cool. They have gotten really good as a team and are fun to watch! Trey really grew as a soccer player this year and he averaged about 4 goals a game haha.
Kenny was invited to sing the National Anthem at the Aviator’s baseball game in front of tons of people which would give me a heart attack but he said why not and he did it! He did awesome!
Josh and Mandy drove through one night and between school and a hockey game we only had an hour to meet up but we never miss a chance to see them! We met up at Bass Pro Shop and loved seeing them.
Kayli got braces!
Sami did an Encanto dance camp at Broadway Kids Academy. She loved it! She loves dancing and performing.
We saw Taylor in the Mary Poppins play out at Spring Mountain Ranch and it was amazing. We love going out there and sitting on the grass with a picnic and games before the show. The kids had fun running around with cousins.
We got to see Joe while he was in town before he leaves on his mission. The kids love him and he’s so fun!
We took a quick trip to San Diego. We only had 2 days there but decided it was worth it and we had a blast of course. We did the Safari Park on the way down and then the zoo (Kim and Reef came!), swimming, and the beach. We got a quick date night in there too. It was fun to see the Poulsens and Kim and Reef. It’s never long enough!

Swimming and beach day with beautiful pictures from Mandy…
Beau’s hockey team had an incredible season! They played so hard very single game and were so fun to watch. Beau switched to defense this year and we loved watching him dive to make saves, skate back to stop kids from shooting, take the puck, get breakaways, and score. He got lots of goals even as a defender. Bennett was on his team this year and that made it even more fun! A lot of times they were on defense together and they were an awesome duo! They made it all the way to the championship game undefeated and by winning an intense semifinal game. They were ranked #1 all season with all of their wins and goals and very goals against them. The championship game was intense! Beau had a goal too! And the crowd was nuts! There were so many people there and we were all cheering so loud! For me it was as exciting as being at a Golden Knights game! We were tied 3-3 at the end of regulation. We went to overtime. Then we went to a shootout. Unfortunately, they lost in the shootout. It was heartbreaking. Every boy came off the ice in tears. They deserved to win the whole thing after that incredible season but that’s just not how sports goes sometimes! They couldn’t have played any better. They were so fun to watch and gave us quite the game! We were all so sad for them. We got some awesome pictures from Wesley- too bad there aren’t any of them holding the Stanley Cup! Beau lives for hockey. This has been so much fun for him-and me!
We celebrated Kenny on Father’s Day but I only got one picture of him and the kids. The kids picked out a Nintendo Switch game for all of them to play. We had Father’s Day dinner with both of our dads so that was fun!
Corn from the garden!
We went to Sea Quest with a bunch of people in our ward…
Kayli got to see Mary Poppins again with my mom and dad and Emma…
Kayli went to Girls Camp for the first time and she loved it!

We did a bike parade, swimming, and fireworks on the street with neighbors for the 4th of July…

Sami likes to write letters and try to write words. She’s also started reading Bob books and Kayli plays school with her a lot. She is still our Barbie loving girl. It’s crazy that she will leave with the rest of the kids for Kindergarten in a month! She took swimming lessons in May and is quite the little swimmer now!
Trey turns 7 tomorrow. He is funny. He likes to make things, play Nintendo Switch, play school, play legos, swim and run around outside when it’s not too hot. His primary teacher always tells me how much she adores him. We do too!
Beau finally likes reading! I keep taking pictures of him reading because it makes me so happy!
Kayli is getting ready for middle school. She is excited!
