We were all sick the week of Easter so we missed out on coloring eggs with cousins at Grandma England’s house. We did dye our own eggs and Kayli loved decorating her eggs.
Beau thought it was more fun to dye the plastic eggs…
We planted jelly beans that night and on Easter morning they had grown into lollipops!
The Easter bunny came…
We also got to do an Easter Egg Hunt at the park with friends.
This past month we also had a bridal shower for one of my favorite people-my cousin, Emily! Her mom and Dawn flew out for the shower and it was fun visiting and throwing her shower! She gets married next weekend!
I also got to see some of my favorite people that I don’t get to see too often!
Kayli started gymnastics! She’s wanted to do it since she started watching Beau at Totnastics but would only take it with Beau’s teacher-but she did it! It’s huge for this girl of ours who doesn’t like mom and dad to leave her. She was such a good listener and loved it! She was so happy the entire time and couldn’t stop smiling.
We had a fun Girls’ Night during the priesthood session of conference. We went to Ladies Night at Deseret Book and then went to BJs. The boys ate at their usual hot dog place after the Priesthood session.
The weather here has been great but you can tell it’s about to get really hot…so we’ve been enjoying lots of park days while we still can!
Took a bunch of pictures at Grandma and Grandpa’s house…there’s all kinds of fun there!
Skyping with Grandma and Grandpa Varney…
Grandma took all three of these kids to a school assembly by herself-and she survived! Luckily, Beau was too shocked about all the rowdy teenagers in the gym that he stayed put!
A little about the kiddos…We think Beau is pretty funny. He makes funny faces and always pretends to be asleep. He has learned that he can just spit at Kayli when she makes him mad-which isn’t a ton because she’s actually a great big sister. He is spending more and more time in time-out though. He is obsessed with the movies, Cars and Frozen. He absolutely freaks out when they’re coming on. He has never been interested in TV, iPads, phones until just recently and now he has figured it all out. He loves to ride his bike. He loves his nursery teachers. He gets so excited when he sees them at church and just hangs out with them like they’re all best friends. He is a great sleeper and a super loving kid. He loves hanging out with his grandpas. He always signs “Grandpa”-always wondering where they are. It’s pretty sweet. Kayli never colored on walls and Beau does it all the time! His latest though is coloring on himself with markers. He’s obsessed with our turtles. He has learned to hide from us and knows that when he sneaks candy he should probably hide. He hates shopping.
Kayli is just like me. She has the exact same personality as I did at this age. She loves to sing and pretend that she is Sister Melvin from church (the primary chorister). She is always “going to school” and then “coming home” and needing my help with her “homework”. She is always doing homework. She always wants to say prayers and read scriptures and she is very afraid of getting in trouble outside of home and so she’s a perfect angel. Boo-ah (the imaginary friend) has returned to our home and he does everything with us. She wakes up at night needing us to get him and his family out of her room so she can sleep. She loves doing puzzles, playing board games, and doing anything artsy.
We were taking pictures of them at the park and all of a sudden she starts posing like this…I asked her where she learned it and she said from Aunt Kaci.
Then in the family Easter picture, she was posing like this again…
I love this little family of mine…
