Before I get to Disneyland…Kenny turned 30! He’s not much into celebrating his birthday. He is totally happy with just dinner. It makes my life easier I guess. Now just to brag about Kenny for a little bit because he does read this…he is a super hard-working daddy and husband! He has lots on his plate right now and yet when he’s home with us he works hard to make us happy. He is a super fun daddy and Kayli laughs so hard when she plays with him. He is the most helpful person I know and we are very lucky to have him! I could go on and on but he probably wouldn’t like that…Happy 30th Birthday!
In honor of a b-day present (going to monster trucks) I made him dirt (oreo/vanilla pudding/cream cheese/and lots of other unhealthy yumminess).
We recently spent a GREAT week down in California. We rented a beach house right on Huntington Beach and spent 3 days at the beach and 3 days at Disneyland. We went down with Kenny’s business partner’s family and some of Kenny’s family came down for a few days too. The kids had a great time playing and loved the beach house and we loved watching the kids have so much fun! Our time at Disneyland was perfect. Kayli was in awe by it all: the castle, the characters, the rides, and especially the princesses. She LOVED meeting the princesses-especially Ariel. It was such a happy moment for me to watch her be so in awe. We did a day at California Adventure where we went to the Disney Junior show. Again, she was in awe as she watched the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show. It was pretty amazing-even like magical! Haha. Beau was a trooper! He was seriously so good and both of them even took naps in the stroller when it was time. I LOVED the experience and wish I could take my kids there every month! I definitely will picture overload this post! Here goes…
In awe…
She did great on the rides…
Excited for another day!
She was so excited to meet Mickey and Minnie!
One of the days she wore her Cinderella dress to meet the princesses…
I’ll take all of this please!
We loved Disneyland!
Kayli loved the beach too. She loved playing in the sand and helping to build castles but she also loved running in and out of the ocean! Beau was great also…loved playing in the sand!
The guys were sand castle building pros! They even built a mermaid and the Luxor.
We definitely had to go to Ruby’s out on the pier…
On our last beach day Josh and Mandy came to hang out with us! We got a great game of sand volleyball going-my favorite!
And it’s fun having babies so close in age…
We got home right in time for Easter…and the Easter bunny made it to our house! He brought Kayli an Ariel doll!
We spent Easter with my family and the kids had an Easter egg hunt in Grandma’s backyard.
We got to see Josh and Mandy for a day this week too. Mandy took our family pictures and we went to Tule Springs. Kayli got to fly a kite!
Now a little bit about Beau…he will be 8 months this week and he is not a baby anymore! He started crawling this week and at the beach he said da-da. He LOVES his mommy. He also thinks that Kayli is pretty much the funniest person alive. He cracks up at the things she does. He is so loveable!
He got to go to boys night out with daddy and Grandpa after the priesthood session of conference. Kenny says he had a blast and was pretty funny.
Kayli baby…she is a crack up! I feel like I’m always telling Kenny the new things she comes up with during the day. She communicates and understands really well. Almost too well. She asks me, “Why?” all the time and then I have to have a good enough explanation for a 2 year old! She remembers everything too. She talks about going to Disneyland again. Recently, she has started telling stories that always begin with “Once upon a time” and end with “the end”. She still dresses herself multiple times a day. She loves the park, brown rice, Dora the Explorer, singing and putting on dance shows. She says really sweet prayers. The other night she said, “Please bless daddy to fall asleep, bless mommy to fall asleep, bless Beau to fall asleep, bless Kayli to fall asleep. The end.”
The other day we were out to eat and this very nice lady came up to Kayli and gave her a dollar for being such a good girl at dinner. We took Kayli to the dollar store and let her choose out one thing to buy with her dollar. She went crazy in there and loaded her basket up with lots of things she might like. She finally decided on princess books. It was a fun lesson on earning and spending money! Thanks nice stranger lady!
