We took Kayli to Disneyland for the first time this past month. I know she is too young to remember it all but it was fun for me! I loved showing her Disneyland and taking her on the rides. She wasn’t too sure about it all at first but she warmed up and on most the rides she would point out everything she noticed and seemed to really have fun. We went down on a Wednesday (just a quick day trip) to hopefully miss a lot of the crowds and met Josh and Mandy there. There still seemed like tons of people were there but we didn’t really wait longer than 15 minutes for rides and most we just walked on. It was a blast! Kayli’s favorite parts of the whole day were going down slides and splashing in the water fountains-guess we could have done all that in Vegas!
She wasn’t a fan of Mickey. I need to read her more Mickey books I guess.
The Dumbo and Pooh Bear rides were Kayli’s favorites.
Josh and Mandy had some friends there also. They have twin 2-year-old boys. They wanted to hold Kayli’s hand so she let them and led them all around this little playground. It was great because she didn’t run off! They walked around like this for a really long time-loving it!
And then they came to the bridge-and it was too much-they all fell down and they all cried. Still cute.
Getting ready to go home…Kayli did so good all day but she was TIRED by the end….and slept the whole way back to Vegas.
Here’s what else we’ve been up to the past month…
Date Night!
We had a really fun date night with the fam. Tate and Lindsay and Nick and Kelsi and us went out to Lucille’s at the District for dinner (love that place). It is some great BBQ food. Then we went to Green Valley Ranch for Nashville UnPlugged. It is only $5.00 to get in and you get to listen to country songwriters tell their stories about the songs and their experiences with the singers and all that. Some of the songwriters are actually singers who are about to be really famous in country music. They all sing their songs and it was so cool to hear the songs they wrote and why. It was pretty awesome. They do these every other Friday so I’ve got to get back!
Mother’s Day!
I love Mother’s Day! It’s one of my favorite days of the year. I have a wonderful mom and mother-in-law who do so much for us. I also love being a mom. It is HARD WORK but it’s amazing too and I’d never change it for anything.
Kayli loves monkeys so she loved the card she got me. She showed everyone for weeks. It was pretty cute.
She also loved my flowers…
My mom was out of town that weekend so we celebrated at Kenny’s parents’ that night. Kayli loves playing in their backyard because they have a trampoline.
Check out her air…
Shark Reef!
Kayli was so mesmerized at the Shark Reef. It was fun to watch her. Teachers and a guest get in free the first weekend of every month! It was a great free outing!
Swimming!
Kayli loves swimming and she is fearless in the water. She likes to blow bubbles and doesn’t mind dunking her head in the water. She also loves kicking and splashing and she doesn’t care if the water is cold or not. Here are some of our fun swimming outings…
Adam now has this little pool, a trampoline, and a slide in his backyard so his house is plenty of fun!
Swimming with Eryn and Chant…
Swimming with the Griffiths…
Heather’s Baby Shower
Heather just had her baby girl last week so Jill is next! This shower was so much fun because I got to see some of my best friends who I don’t see much. We took a picture of all the pregnant girls there. How funny is this?
Love these girls. It’ll be fun to have babies all within 3 months of each other.
Tule Springs for Memorial Day weekend!
My family went to Tule Springs park because the weather was SO nice this Memorial Day. I had been sick all weekend so it felt great to get out. Kayli and Adam ran around chasing ducks and peacocks and we had sandwiches and salads. Russ also made homemade root beer and dutch oven cobbler! It was pretty fun and I loved it out there!
Kayli at 18 Months!
Yes! That means she can now go to nursery! She went for the first time last Sunday and did great (at least that’s what they told me). She was funny though because we kept asking her what she did in nursery and we are pretty sure they read, sang songs, played, ate, etc. but she kept signing something else and we have no idea what she’s trying to tell us! Anyway, we are ALL so excited that this time has arrived! Haha. (Since she started walking at 9 months she has been absolutely crazy at church and I feel like the parent who can’t control their own kid and it’s been pretty exhausting so this will be GREAT!)
Kayli is still so much fun and I just marvel at the things she is learning to do and say. Here are some recent pictures of her…
Jayson and Casey says
Wow, I can't believe that picture of her hanging from the trampoline!! haha. She's strong! Glad you had so much fun in Disneyland. Lucky!
