We had a great Christmas season packed with lots of fun Christmas traditions and activities. We had one very excited Kayli and a Beau who was pretty excited about Christmas trees, lights, and all of his new trucks. Kayli learned the story of Jesus’ birth and loves to sing Jingle Bells and Up on the Housetop. She also had a blast baking Christmas treats. There’s just something magical about watching little kids (especially your own) during Christmastime. I thoroughly enjoyed it all.
We went to the Live Nativity, the Magical Forest, saw Santa 3 times, drove around and looked at lights, and lots more!
The kids were so sad to when our elf, Penzy had to leave to go home. They loved finding him every morning.
Christmas Eve day we went to the new Container Park downtown and it was awesome! It’s a really cool place and the kids had a blast playing.
We spent Christmas Eve with my family. The kids acted out the nativity story and it was pretty much the best I’ve ever seen.
The shepherd took the baby Jesus from Mary…
Joseph kept covering his face and making Mary laugh…and I’m not sure where the angel ended up.
Kayli asked Santa for a Sofia doll but he must have known that Grandma England would get her one!
The kiddos in their jammies from Grandma…
Christmas morning was a blast. Kayli, of course, was so excited and Beau decided to sleep in and make her wait. It was so much fun to watch them that morning.
Kayli asked Santa for a “Frozen” dress and he brought one!
After we opened our own presents we went to to Kenny’s parents’ house for Christmas breakfast and presents. Kaci was waiting for everyone to come over so she could go downstairs and see what Santa brought!
Kayli got a Rapunzel dress and wig from Grandma and Grandpa Eliason. It was a hit and she wore it all day! We kinda can’t get over how grown-up she looks here!
And keeping with tradition, Kenny stayed up all hours of the night two days before Christmas to make our family book. It’s so fun to read these books and see how they’re crazy-his rhymes never make sense-they’re a little hazy! (Perfect time for a rhyme, yeah?)
Kayli still spends her days dressing up and memorizing the “Frozen” songs. She loves to bake with Grandmas and me. The other night my mom and dad came over to see what she got for Christmas. She didn’t want them to leave. (She loves when people come over.) She ended up crying as they drove away and they came right back and said they were taking her. She ran up and packed her suitcase (full of princess dresses, I had to pack some normal clothes) and hardly said goodbye to me. She was so excited to go spend the night. Her one request was that Grandpa made pancakes in the morning (which he was sure to do). They ended up taking her to see Frozen again and bought her a Frozen shirt. She spent the night on Kim’s floor and was so excited to hang out with Mimmy before she leaves for school again. Mom says they woke up the next morning to Kayli knocking on the door and singing, “Elsa? Do you want to build a snowman? C’mon let’s go and play…” which is normal to us! They took her to lunch before she finally came home and she didn’t even really miss us. Haha. I think everyone had a good time. Mom said she was cracking them up the whole time. She even taught Grandma how to voice search on YouTube.
Beau has started using sign language a little more. I think he’s finally picking it up just from us showing him the signs. He can say all done, thank you, banana, milk, cereal, water, sorry and is learning grandma, grandpa, diaper, shoes, and more. We watched Charlie while mom and dad were gone for a few days and I got this cute picture of Beau letting him lick his hands. Don’t be fooled though…I pretty much held Beau the entire three days because he was for some reason scared of the dog in our house.
He sure likes his cousin…can’t wait for these two to run around together!
He loves running around with the big kids too. We had a fun Christmas party day at Heather’s house and he had a blast playing with Kyan and Aidan.
