Beau finished his Flag Football league. Him and Bennett were the little guys on the team but they did awesome! It’s so fun to watch him play sports. Every game was cold and windy. And check out the sizes of some of the kids they played against! They did so good though.
St. Patrick’s Day Fun…
Kenny tuned 38! We went to Outback with Cahills and McCormicks and then Kenny surprised all of us with the events for the rest of the night. We were still kind of limited because of closures and restrictions but ended up at the Rio playing mini golf! Haha.
Kenny and I went to the Golden Knights game for his birthday! We are pretty big fans and love watching the games so it was so exciting!!! I wish we could have taken the kids!
Beau and I went on a pretty rad trip. Ever since the Sagers moved to North Carolina last July, we’ve wanted to go out there and see them and get the boys back with Carter again. And Kelli is out in South Carolina and I’ve wanted to go see her too! We finally decided to just do it and planned a trip. Mindy didn’t tell Carter that we were coming and the reunion was the sweetest thing. Carter was pretty annoyed that they had to drive clear to the airport for a package (at least that’s what he thought they were going for). Mindy caught his reaction on video and when he realizes that the boys are running at him he is soooo excited and picks them up and hugs them! The moms all had tears in our eyes! Beau had never been on a plane before so he was pretty excited for that too. And to go with Bennett made it even more fun! He asked me a million questions about planes that I didn’t know answers to and he actually slept pretty good on the plane! The boys had a blast playing all weekend and were as loud and crazy as could be. Erin and I Ioved catching up with Mindy and seeing the rest of their family too. Mindy planned the best weekend and it was perfect! We did a hike the first day we were there with amazing views from the top. We went to the original Krispy Cream Donuts, went to some cool parks, the boys tried fishing, we took the boys out for pizza and ice-cream the last night we were there, they rode bikes around the neighborhood, caught salamanders and snakes, went to the trampoline park and stayed up late talking! We can’t wait for them to move to Salt Lake in July so we can see them more often! It was really sad saying goodbye. Nobody wanted to leave! Erin and Bennett flew home Sunday night and me and Beau got a rental car and drove down to Kelli’s house. It was pretty funny just the two of us driving through unknown towns just hoping my maps would get me through the forests and to her house. We made it though and it was so good to see her and her family! It had been 15 months since we’d seen Kelli and Ryder and Alex even longer than that. They also took good care of us. Ryder and Beau had a blast! Ryder laughed so hard the entire time we were there. He thought Beau was so funny and Beau was a comedian for him the entire time we were there. The first day we were there we road-tripped to Charleston! I have always wanted to go there so we figured why not drive the 3 hours and go! We left early and the boys slept in the car and I loved just chit-chatting with Kelli. Charleston was so cool! I loved the old but beautiful houses and the famous Rainbow Row. We went to the Atlantic Ocean for the first time and Beau and Ryder ran all over the beach. It was a little cold for me! We stopped and picked up some Clemson gear because Kayli was super into March Madness and knew I’d be close to Clemson haha. The next day we went to a drive-through zoo and it was hilarious! I face-timed Trey the whole time because he is our animal lover and he took about 1,000 pictures of it on my mom’s phone. The animals come right up to your car and if your windows are down they’ll stick their heads right in. Beau had a few scares because he was holding the feed bucket in the car and the animals wanted it! We also went to downtown York, Bush and Vine for strawberry shakes, found a Piggly Wiggly and the Clover water tower, and drove all around looking at all the different houses. There were so many trees and windy roads so I never knew where we were! It was sad leaving them. I was anxious to get home to the rest of the family (a week was a long time to be away!) but wanted to bring Kelli home with me so she could see everyone.

Flight home! Beau was the best travel buddy!
The kids had a blast all week too. They got to go to both Grandma’s houses, the Discovery Museum, Wetlands Park, and play with friends.
Only had one trick up my sleeve for April Fool’s Day but I got them! Refried beans chocolate ice-cream. Beau dug right in haha.
Easter Egg Hunt with friends…
Conference/Easter morning…
We had a great Easter with the Eliason family and even had a special surprise show up-Taylor! We had no idea he would be there!
April 6 was one happy day for our family and kids in Las Vegas. Elementary-aged kids went back to school full-time. Kayli hadn’t been in a school building in over a year. She was so excited to finally meet her teacher in person and be back on campus. The boys had gone back hybrid the month before but this day was just so special. We pretty much cried walking up to the campus and seeing teachers, staff, friends, and just people everywhere! Of course they are in masks, and they can’t play on playground equipment both of which are just so sad for the Kindergarteners especially but hey-we’ll take in-person school finally! Everyone was happy. There were some dark days with all of us trying to do virtual school. Sami is a whole new person. She is so happy and giddy once the kids leave-like she finally gets some attention! She loves spending time with just mom and dad early in the morning and then plans the days for me and her. It’s been so fun to spend time with just her and in the mornings and she also takes naps again now that it’s quiet and nobody is home in the afternoon! So we are all MUCH happier! Although we’ll be so sad to see this year end because our favorite Kindergarten teacher is retiring, it’ll be nice to end and hopefully start back up normal in August.
Sami and I thoroughly enjoy our days together!
Trey and Kayli got to go to the Logandale fair to see Kate perform. There was a bad accident on the freeway so they didn’t make it in time but still had a blast out there!
Sami had her first dentist appointment with Holli! She did great! Trey loves it too. He is so cool going in to it like it isn’t a big deal (so different from when I take Kayli. Still!) They both love helping Holli! Trey asks her a million questions. What does this thing do? And turns it on. Does this sink work? And turns it on. Will this hurt me? What is that sound? Why do you do that? It’s pretty entertaining.
Sami started ballet! She’s wanted to do a dance class for a long time but the rec centers haven’t been open. As soon as they opened this month we signed her and her little friend up. For both of us, this was our first time with a kid in ballet and we were so excited to go watch them and then they told us that due to COVID we couldn’t sit and watch them. We were so bummed! They were adorable though and had a blast.
The boys got to go to Fathers and Sons! They were so excited to go since last year’s was cancelled.
The girls were excited to have a girls sleepover in mom’s bed.
Haley, Erin, and I pampered ourselves for Mother’s Day. We got pedicures, massages and then free facials! It was wonderful! I’ve never pampered myself like that before! The kids brought me breakfast in bed and some presents and the best part is the homemade cards and Mother’s Day questionnaires.
Beau is playing soccer again and does awesome and Kayli wanted to play this season too! She’d only play if dad was her coach though. Kenny loves coaching soccer though and we got Brielle on her team and ended up with a bunch of kids from the stake on the team and Kayli has loved meeting new friends and she is really getting better at soccer! I’m so proud of her for trying something new and working hard at it.
Riding on Buster the Bus to school one day…
Trey is finishing the school year with staples in his head! Last Saturday before Beau’s soccer game Trey decided to climb up on a soccer goal post. I saw it and told him to get down but then he slipped off from the top and hit his head on the metal fence behind him. It hurt him and he started crying. He’s usually pretty tough but this was a different cry for him. I could tell he was hurt. I picked him up and was holding his head trying to calm him down. Everyone had turned around to look because they heard it! I think we were both a little embarrassed and so I just started walking towards Kenny who was over with Beau in the goal. When I handed him over to Kenny I saw I had blood dripping down my hand and on my shirt so then I was a little worried! We took him to the bathroom to clean him up, couldn’t find paper towels or soap or anything and didn’t know if we needed to take him for stitches or not. Finally a mom on our team came up to us and told us she was a nurse and had a first aid kit. She cleaned it up for us and said yeah take him to urgent care right away. Kenny had to coach the next game so I took Trey and luckily our parents had just shown up for the first soccer game this season because of COVID regulations. Mom came with me and we got him to Urgent Care. 3 staples and a bandage around his head later-he was good to go! He was a little out of it the rest of the day and embarrassed about it all. We had a ward party that night and he wore a hoodie the whole time to cover it up but by church the next day he wasn’t worried about it anymore. He hasn’t even been wearing the bandage to school. He was so brave though and didn’t even flinch during the staples even though I know he was scared. And while I was with Trey, Kayli decided to score her first ever goal! I’m so sad I missed it!
Messy but cute kids…
The school year is coming to an end this week and although I’m ready to be done with this crazy year and masks and chromebooks and all the dumb rules at school-I’m so sad to see Trey’s Kindergarten year come to an end. I don’t want to say goodbye to Mrs. Buell and I wish he had more time with her. I wish we could go to a Kindergarten Graduation and that Trey could actually play on the playground with his friends without masks on. They just didn’t get enough time together. I will miss going to the school every day. He had lots of fun while he was at school despite all the regulations. I am just so grateful to have had Mrs. BuelI and so many great friends in class with him. I wish he got to experience Kindergarten to the fullest but we’ll just hope for an awesome 1st grade year! We had the best time at the end of the year party at the park where we got to see so many friends and teachers.
The chicks hatched at school! Trey’s had such good friends in his class! Trey’s Kindergarten class. Kayli and Maddux have been buddies since Kindergarten but he won’t be at the school next year. We are so sad abotu that! Kayli and the boys hanging out with her all night! We will never be ready to say goodbye to Mrs. Buell!
Kayli worked her butt off on her end-of-the-year project. She had to teach a 20 minute lesson to her class relating to a 4th grade standard. She chose to teach them about entrepreneurs. She had to create a lesson plan. She thought it was so cool because she felt like a real teacher haha. She researched and taught them about famous entrepreneurs and then talked about her dad and grandpa and had a really cool presentation to go with it all. She won the class over when she gave them all 2 for 1 passes to FLIPnOUT! She also had cool business plans for them to fill out and they all wanted to share their plans! Her teacher was very impressed and I’m not even sure how many hours she worked and prepared for it but it was a lot. Beau had to do the same thing but not to quite the extent. He said he’d just get up and teach them all how to fold a paper airplane. Haha. Didn’t prepare at all but got up and wowed the class. Haha. He is starting Lil’ Knights hockey next week and he couldn’t be more excited. We’re actually so excited too! Can’t wait to watch him play hockey games!
Trey graduated from Kindergarten. I’m so sad. He’s getting so big. He was also exited from Speech but he still talks cute. He loves friends so much and is still sweet and loving.
Bike ride with Trey. Stopped because he wanted a picture. Finally playing with Harlee (and Madden of course). Trey hates chores. So when he cleaned up the whole downstairs for me one day he was pretty happy to show me! Mr. Eliason playing school. Harlee showing us her jiu jitsu skills. She took Trey down FAST! Then Madden wanted a turn and she took him down so fast too.
Sami is still loving tumbling and now ballet. She wants to do soccer but I don’t know if we can handle all the things! She is my buddy during the day.
A few more pics…
