Trey turned 7! We celebrated by going to Red Robin and skating at Crystal Palace. I love his 7 year-old toothless smile!
The boys had a sleepover at Grandma’s with Uncle Taylor!
Then the girls got a sleepover!
I turned 37!
We enjoyed lots of days of swimming this summer! We also had Gravady passes so we spent a lot of time there with friends!
We went to the Dude Perfect Tour and our kids were in heaven! Kenny and I loved it too! It was so fun to see so many friends and cousins there too.
We got to see the Poulsen’s a couple of times as they drove up to Utah and back. I can’t resist getting cute pictures of Trey and Avery and their animals!
Kayli and Kate went to volleyball camp where Kaci was one of the coaches!
Mrs. Buell came to visit!
Pottery and sleepover with Grandma…
Alise, Heather and I went to dinner. It had been too long! Heather and I have been friends for 26 years and Alise and I have been friends for 23.
Mom and Dad took Beau and Adam with them to Ely for a little roadtrip. They did lots of things! They got to meet Aunt Beverley too. Beau loved telling us about all the family names he saw at the cemetery there that he recognized from Family Search!
Kenny went to Young Mens Camp…
Ice skating at City National!
Meet and Greet! Everything is back to normal at school finally! I am so happy for my kids. They all have amazing teachers and fun friends in their classes. I am excited to be at the school with them to volunteer and sub.
First day of school for these three! I can’t believe Sami is in Kindergarten but she has loved it.
Kayli started two days later. We went the charter school route for her for middle school and so far it has been so great. The teachers seem great and the school is so much smaller than our CCSD middle schools. It’s also within walking distance so her and I either scooter (she hops on the back of my electrip scooter with me and I take her until she tells me she doesn’t’ want to be seen with me anymore- haha- she is much nicer than that but I usually let her off at the crosswalk a block from school so kids don’t have to see her riding with her mom. She has made great friends already and even made the volleyball team! She is in yearbook as well and gets to do all kinds of fun things for that. So far she is having and amazing middle school experience which is such a blessing! She’s so big and so little all at the same time!
Beau’s birthday was on the first day of school so I went and checked him out during lunch and PE. I had been at City National the day before buying him so hockey gear for his birthday and I noticed that some of the Golden Knights players were out there practicing. Kayli was with me and we were freaking out! We watched them for a little bit and I thought man, I wonder if they’re here tomorrow so I can bring Beau for his birthday since he’s a huge fan. City National wouldn’t say if they’d be there but I decided to take my chances and drove Beau down there during lunch to see and boy am I glad we did! There was one guy out on the ice-but it happened to be one of Beau’s favorite players-William Karlsson! We watched for a few minutes and then Beau got brave and went around to the coaches side to see if he could get a better look and if we got brave enough (or didn’t get kicked out before then) we’d ask for a picture or autograph or something. When he got around to the other side he was kind of startled because there was a coach there we hadn’t seen but Beau asked if he could watch from there and the coach said he could! We watched for an awkward probably 10 minutes before Karlsson took a break and the coach said to him that it was Beau’s birthday. Karlsson chatter with Beau and was so, so nice. We got a picture and told them thank you so much and left before we were too much of a nuisance! It was such an awesome birthday surprise for Beau! He had a fun day!
We also had FLIPnOUT birthday party for him.
Me, Beau, Trey, Sami, Erin, and Bennett took a little roadtrip to St. George to meet up with Mindy and her kids and it was so great to see them! We miss them so much! We drove up Saturday morning and played all day. We stayed at a hotel which the kids thought was so fun then we drove home Sunday morning and it made it back in time for church.
Kayli and Kenny had fun here while we were gone!
Our little Sami turned 5! How?! She went to school on her birthday and took treats to pass out at lunch. We went to a movie the day before, then she just wanted to swim, play and have pizza and cake at our house that night. We loved celebrating her!
We are getting into a better after-school routine. The first two weeks were a little crazy! There is so much to do for school and activities from the moment the three get home from elementary school at 2:30.
A few more pics… and we are finally a Harry Potter family. Kenny and I had never given it much of a chance but decided to read it with the whole family during the summer and we all loved it! We’re now about halfway through the second book.
Kayli is a busy girl but she thrives with responsibility. She is doing piano, volleyball, soccer soon, young womens, yearbook, and has math homework most nights. She doesn’t get home until 3:45 some days and other days 5:30 if she stays for volleyball practice and then some days has activities to get to but she is very organized and stays on top of things! It’s been fun to watch her take on middle school and all the responsibilities that have come with it.
Beau has a lot on his plate but he is working hard to get into a good routine. He qualified to take a 6th grade math class after school hours virtually on his own in addition to his 5th grade classes at school. It’s a lot but he has wanted to stick with it. We are trying to get to the point where he can learn on his own and I won’t have to be the teacher the entire time because it takes a few hours a week. He also has his regular school homework sometimes, reading, working towards the Great American Award, hockey, soccer soon, piano and activity days every other week. He takes good care of Sami at school. I’ve started doing the drop off in the morning and he walks her to her gate and stays with her to make sure she is good. He doesn’t get to go play with his friends when he does that but he likes to take care of her. He is also so good at picking her up after school and walking her to our meeting place. A new season of hockey started and their first game is this Friday. We are so excited for it! He is on the same team with the same coach so they should do really well again!
Trey is loving 2nd grade and has the cutest teacher. I am so happy that he is loving her and school. He needs the best year after a virtual Kindergarten year and a not-so-fun 1st grade year because of all of the restrictions. He is about to start soccer with his friends!
Sami is handling all day Kindergarten like a champ! She likes to come home and read her book and poem to me and likes her little homework projects. I get to go help in her classroom on Thursday and I can’t wait! Laurel also sent me this picture of her eating her lunch at school!
