We had a fun friend outing to Gravady. We are so lucky to have such a big group of friends. We took the Jackson kids with us while Jen packed her house to move to Colorado-which we are all so sad about. Her kids were the sweetest to my kids. Beau loved playing with Cole even though he is 4 years older than him and Kayli and Madi were good friends. Livi played with Beau and Kayli a lot too and Trey loved Jaelyn and she was always so sweet with him and helped watch him. Jen was my friend that was always down to play sports-and I’ll especially miss her at volleyball! We love their family and it was so sad to say goodbye to them! I’m really sad for Kayli especially to lose such a good friend.
For Grandpa Eliason’s birthday we went to watch him and Kenny play softball. All of the cousins were there and they had a blast running around and drinking slurpees and although it was really hot-it was fun to go since I hadn’t gone all summer. Trey loved cheering for everyone and had to be on the leash so that he wouldn’t run away! At Grandpa’s Sunday birthday dinner he tricked the in-laws into playing his favorite game- Stock Market. We didn’t really know what we were getting ourselves into but we like games so we played. It was really funny when we realized that none of his kids were playing and it was only me, Lindsay, and Nick (and Kari was nice enough to play with him on his birthday)!
Me and Kayli went and helped Jessica set up her 1st grade classroom because I am nerdy and miss that kind of stuff and because Kayli is just like me and wants to be a teacher and thought it would be awesome to do that! She was in heaven! She thought it was soooo cool. Jessica had lots for her to do and she was really helpful!
Beau had a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa Eliason’s house where he had so much fun teaching Grandpa video games. When I picked him up the next day he had no idea that we were going straight to Grandma and Grandpa England’s house and he got to stay there with Adam! He was so excited for two nights in a row of sleepovers. They roasted hot dogs and had s’mores. The lucky boy had a blast but we missed him! Kenny didn’t even see him for 2 straight days! It was fun spending time at mom and dad’s a couple of days in a row and the kids have so much fun playing with all of their grandparents!
Beau turned 5 on August 10th! He had been so excited for his birthday to come so I wanted it to be a really fun day for him but we weren’t having a party. He didn’t really know what he wanted or what he wanted to do but was so excited! He woke up early and we had waffles with whipped cream and sprinkles like he requested and opened presents. Since he wasn’t sure what he wanted this year we decided to start him on legos, which the week before luckily, Kayli had gotten some legos and was pretty into building things and so Beau became more curious about them too. Beau really liked getting those and him and Kayli and daddy are always building legos now. He also got a maze book (he loves mazes and is really good at them), more monster trucks, a Blaze book from Kelli that came in the mail, legos from Owen, a transformer from Carter, a game from Beau, monster trucks from Benny, and Blaze trucks from Grandma Eliason. He also went shopping with Grandma England to pick out a present and he chose Paw Patrol boats. This boys has loved his presents and is so grateful for what he gets.
We decided we’d just go play at FLIPnOUT and lots of friends ended up being able to come with us! Beau has so many cute friends and I think he had a great time. Everyone had lots of fun and it was a fun last outing with the Dixons before they moved to Provo-another sad good-bye for us! We will miss them so much too! Natalie had been our workout buddy for the past few months and we’ll miss them in carpool and on our sports teams too. Her boys were also so sweet and fun to be around.
After that, Benny got to come over and play all afternoon which Beau was so happy about! Owen, Olivia, and Lindsay showed up with a birthday present for him later and so Beau got to play with them too until it was time to go to Kenny’s softball playoffs. Turned out that his team made the playoffs and the game was that night-but Beau wanted to go! Then we went to Cafe Rio and by time we got home and had birthday cake it was pretty late! I love celebrating my kids’ birthdays. They are just so dang happy all day and I can tell they feel really special. It’s fun making the whole day about them. It was a great, chill birthday and he loved it all!
Kenny and the kids have been out jeeping a lot lately! They all love it! Trey loves to go in the jeep with daddy! And he loves finding jeeps! Last time they saw coyotes, rabbits, an owl, and donkeys and Trey told me all about it! He loves that his best friend Madden always gets to go in his jeep too!
The kids started school! Kayli is in 1st grade with Ms. Cutler but Kayli already loves her because she is young, cute, and so nice. Beau is lucky enough to have Mrs. Buell, Kayli’s teacher from last year. We are so excited to have her again because we know she is awesome! Beau has been so excited to start school and we knew he had Corbin and Carter in his class, two of his good friends. But at the meet-at-greet we found out that he’s in there with two other girls from our ward and a girl from the ward next to us. It’s fun for me too because I get to see all of their moms! Benny is right next door. When we got to school the first day I went with Beau to the Kinder playground. Right away he found Benny, Carter, Corbin, Knox, Nash and Chloe and they ran around the grass playing tag. They were crazy! It was so good to see them so comfortable and excited though and made it easier to let him go. They also let a new boy play with them and we were proud of them for including others. Beau went right in and wasn’t sad at all! Kenny went with Kayli because she was not excited to be starting school again. She didn’t know any girls in her class and I was sad for her even though I know she’s good at making friends. Luckily we’ve had some new girls move in the ward recently and she found two of them to play with in the morning and then found them again at lunch. She came so excited to tell me that she plays with them at recess and I am just so, so grateful that they moved in and that Kayli was a good friend and invited them to play-because since they are new to the school they really didn’t know anyone! They both loved their first day and it was fun picking them up and seeing them so happy! Beau looks so little but so cute at school. Kayli looks confident and old. I always want to remember how cute and innocent they are going to school right now. The next few days of school have been a little harder. Kayli cried the third day going in and Beau cried today going in. We aren’t really sure what sets them off sometimes but they both were fine once they were in the building.
It was fun being home with Trey and just soaking him up while it’s just me and him. He is fun to cuddle with and loved picking all the shows to watch. Haha. Today we went with friends to the pool and I’ve never gotten to go with just him so it was fun. Tomorrow we are going to McDonalds with friends. We’re enjoying hanging out with the little ones-and I’m trying to get lots in with him this week while he’s still my baby!

The boys helping me make banana bread…
Beau was already at the nurses office on the third day of school. I missed the call so just had a voicemail and the nurse explained everything and said he would be fine and he was going back to class. She said he was playing freeze tag at lunch and bonked heads with somebody and that he had a pretty good bruise under his eye. I was actually at lunch with all of my friends (most have Kindergarteners too) when I listened to the voicemail so we were laughing about if he was being crazy with all of the boys and who else got a call because then we’d know who he bonked with. I was shocked when I picked him up because it was a pretty good bruise! He explained everything to me and said it was an accident but he did bonk with a good friend but that another good friend went and got a teacher and then he was late for lunch but he was brave. It’s probably the first of many injuries on the school playground!
We got the kids their own Books of Mormon hoping they would buy into reading out of them themselves for scripture reading. I found a kid-friendly schedule for reading and we’ll read a few verses a night but they will help read. It was a hit! I couldn’t believe it. We’ll see how long it lasts but for now they are so excited about their books and that they can help read now. Kayli even decided to write her testimony in her book. This wasn’t my idea and I’ve never suggested she do that so I asked her how she knew to do that and how she knew what to write. She said she just thought to write it in her book because she heard everyone’s testimony at the last testimony meeting!
More pictures of the kids…
We are organized and ready for a baby to come any day now that we made it thru the first day of school. The kids keep asking when she is coming! I keep asking too! Also, the kids start baseball practice this Saturday and they are on a team with lots of their friends again.
