New Years Eve was a ton of fun this year. Josh and Mandy were heading home to San Diego and stayed with us for New Years. We took them to Lucille’s at Red Rock for dinner and then headed home to stay up late playing card games and Train-one of our favorite traditions with them! We miss living across the street from these guys!
We’ve enjoyed the super nice weather here and have been hanging out at the park in short sleeves in the middle of January…
Kayli started sunbeams. She talks about primary all week, plays primary at home, loves her teacher and her friends but when it comes time to actually go to primary she has a really hard time. We’re really hoping she comes around soon…and that Beau will go to nursery in two weeks just fine and then we can be stress-free at church! Ha. Fingers crossed.
Kayli loves her Aunt Kaci so much and she got to go on a super fun date with her…they saw Frozen, went to FLIPnOUT, and had ice-cream. And they take cute pictures together…
Kayli thinks it’s fun to have girls’ nights and boys’ nights. Haha. So sometimes her and I go shopping while the boys work on stuff…
We also had a fun girls’ day with my mom, Kelli, and Emily doing fun wedding stuff! We ended the day at Hash House and Kayli ate tons!
When Jill was in town her family threw her a baby shower. Kayli went with me and loved getting everyone refills of lemonade the entire time.
We went bowling with Kenny’s family. The kids loved it! Beau wanted to bowl for everyone and liked carrying his own bowling ball!
Kayli is such a good helper. She is always willing to help and even does things without being asked. She’s really good at cleaning her room, dusting, helping with dinner, and doing laundry. She loves to make up stories with dad at bedtime (maybe to delay bedtime?) but it’s pretty cute. She’s obsessed with Frozen, still wears her Rapunzel hair every day, hates to go to sleep, loves story time at the library, and can do a headstand.
For some reason Kayli wants Beau potty trained and she has started training him herself…
Beau has a pretty funny personality. He smirks when he’s about to do something he shouldn’t and he thinks he’s pretty funny. He loves to hide and I lose him every day in our own house. He is very loving and likes to just plop on your lap and give you a hug and kiss. He likes to make popcorn with Grandpa and cuddle with Kayli.
Beau pretty much had a photo shoot in Grandpa’s old car…
These two play really good together (most of the time) and Beau loves to copy everything Kayli does…
And they are helpful!
And they love their cousins!
Kenny is busy, busy with work. And he wrote a book…
One story I don’t want to forget…we try to read scriptures with the kids every night and seriously, it’s only a few versus but at least we’re trying, right? Well we’re following the Children’s Friend schedule for reading Old Testament stories and it’s pretty doable. Last night we read about Cain and Abel and when I read the part “Cain slew Abel” I summarized it by saying “He was mean to his brother. We should be nice to our brothers”. Kayli said, “that’s just like Nephi! His brothers were mean to him too!” So…it’s sinking in! It’s definitely worth the attempt each night.
